I've only listened through a few times but the new Dirty Projectors is fucking great.
Maybe not as good an album as Bitte Orca but t some of the best pop hooks of recent years are to be found on there, seriously.

Really?! Not feeling that whatsoever. Then again I said the same thing when I first heard Grimes..

I have to agree. I don't think I'll ever feel this. Beach house managed to still grow on me though, so you never know

I'm also not getting the Fiona Apple hype - it just seems really unremarkable...

of the little non ds I 've heard this year:
Charge Group's self-titled double LP on Microphone & Loudspeaker cos it's totally cool & I haven't had a turntable to play it on yet
&
[/i]Tedeschi Trucks Band[/i]'s live double album "Everybody's Talking" on Masterworks which does a great take on early-to-mid-70s-big-band-without-horn-domination rock with some fantastic musicianship & authentic voices.

I'm now fully convinced by this Jam City album, the sounds are just so cool. I think it only really hit me how good these tunes actually are on the NS Boiler Room
