Just released my newest composition(s):
Hypercube EP. I would love some feedback on the mixing/mastering of the whole EP or even just the first track "Tesseract". Any love I receive will be wholeheartedly returned on the medium it is provided on (e.g. soundcloud, dubstepforum). Haven't really gotten many comments on the actual compositional aspects of my production, so I am excited to see what you guys have to say! The whole EP can be streamed and downloaded for free on my bandcamp page too.

Thanks for taking the time to listen!

The intro is fairly interesting, a little too much verb.
Like the kick but it could do with a little more punch.
Don't like the track drop onwards, too messy, far too many different sounds competing for attention.
Like the vocal chopping.
That midrange scream is painful on the ears and takes too much away from the sub bass.
the drum programming is quite unimaginative, try adding some more variations.
Like the metallic spoon sounding perc in the bridge.
The atmosphere is too loud though and completely removes any impact the second drop might have had.
It literally drowns out most of the track.
Original idea, not executed perfectly but, my guess is you have not been producing for long so it isn't a terrible effort.
Bit surprised that you have put out an ep as this track is nowhere near release ready. You should spend a lot more time on your productions before throwing the together as an ep.

Thank you for the honest feedback, this was exactly what I was looking for from someone who goes through the same process of creating music. I actually have been producing for almost two years now, and spent about three months on the three tracks for my EP trying to get them as good as I could. But I am definitely not at the point I would like to be (which is why I am transferring into an audio production program starting in the fall too). I think I might have created some issues in the overall sound of the track by normalizing the wave after I finished mixing it. I think I fell into the trap of the loudness war, just trying to get the volume up to the level of professional productions. So next time I will focus more on having more fluctuation between the softer and more intense parts. Thanks again for the honest feedback, any specific thing you would like a comment/feedback on?
