Well i suppose most techno is a little more sample/ sound design/ fx based if you know what i mean. Its usually not that melodical. I too find it hard to see how you could hate as as whole though. If were talking about 'pop-house' top 40 style tracks then ok, but there is SO much more good stuff out there. Theres a ton of deephouse i love to bits, Shur-i-kan's older mixes represent this pretty well (http://shurikan.libsyn.com). The latest mixes are not quite as good as his earlier work but the page still deserves a good browse.

if you like deep stuff, dubtechno eats most house for breakfast
i mean i like a lot of house (as long as its actually house and not stiff beat trancy shit) but i can understand people not enjoying it, its like some people dont like ANY rap or metal music even though there should be something for everyone in those genres.

haha - I like "heads down" music with grit. I jumped straight into Techno from Punk / Metal / Hardcore. It's all about the energy & power for me.

Personally - House can be pretty hit & miss on those counts to my ears. It's an era / genre that I choose not to listen to

You probably don't like Deep Techno then.

I can only take headclobber Techno in short doses.

Dunno if this is the thread for it.

But anyone here attempting to produce some complextro house stuff? With halftime semi-bro sections in it? Shit isn't as easy as I thought.

Love to bounce ideas off of someone seeing as their is no real good forum anywhere for it, and i like it here haha

Apologies if this is frowned upon, but I'm curious to see if this song sort of fits the feel of this thread. Would love to hear what you guys think about the overall groove. Someone told me that it could use more hats to add bounce and drive, any thoughts?

this isn't a feedback thread or a thread about 'complextro'.

This is a thread clearly made to get AWAY from all that.

Dunno, Tech house isnt really my thing, so I wouldnt be able to advise on it really, It sounds good though, good qual, and I think its quite bouncey to be honest, it does feel like its missing somethign though, but i dont know what sorry.

Also the guitar feels a bit out of place in the tune, like its really techy but then you have guiatr in it

This thread wasn't made to get away from anything, It's just a thread about techno and house production so lets be civil and just talk about that.

@sn0wday you pretty much answered your own question by asking 'dunno if this is the thread for it', if it was, don't think you would have said that ;-) Have a quick skim through and you'll see this is about techno and house not what your chatting about.

Here's some point of discussion, techno low end. Obviously there's so many different techniques and different styles and i've spent many hours experimenting and wanted to get talking with some people on the forum also interested. Interesting ways you go about creating low end in your tunes.

I've been thinking about this track today, the low end is perfect as is the rest of the track. I'm assuming the bass noises are synthesised, anyone got any tips on creating sounds like this. Sounds sort of like the main bass sound with an lfo on it, possibly just a straight sine with a pitch envelope as the other part of it, can also make out a square sounding sub too. It all works so well together with the kicks I can't quite pick it out but I think there's a few elements working together that give it a sort of bounce. Have made similar sounding grooves but not quite like this! Also at the end of the track it's just the kicks and another sound that has a suction like sound, any ideas on this noise as this definitely is part of the low end groove throughout the track.

Massive 12" if you've not heard it, like all bleaks stuff imo, check it out.

as much i love techno, house has always had the edge for me.

and that track with the guitar is actually pretty cool imo, adds something a bit different to the usual tech-house sort of thing.

Well, to me the bass sounds like just 808 kind of sine wave, underneath the kick, with the square bass kind of wob on the off beat too. At the end that suction noise, I dunno, Id just get that with another kind of kick, doesnt seem to me like any low sub is coming from it though, that is all in the sine under the kick, i think the suction noise is just to add groove.
