Always had my money on trap as the next hype ting.
I'll go ahead and go on about how it sucks now, so I can be a hipster on two levels :W:

She's not even pissing me off, unlike most R1 folk, they should drop Fearne Cotton and take Traits on proper.

Also, that new Champion track is sick

Yeah shes not bad! and far more listenable than any of the regular lot. Atleast with this possibly being the next hype atleast they arnt (as far as Im aware) completely bastardizing a genre ala brostep to dub.

Yeah, I'm actually a bit more cool with it now. About 2 weeks ago I wrote it off, but the selections here are fitting. It's all this soundcloud triangles and logos shite I can't handle. Those tunes suck for the most part, maybe 1 in 5 Flosstradamus tunes do anything for me.

Although there is no way in hell I'd class them as trap, TNGHT are dominating the maximum energy off minimal sounds game

Its great.music its just stupid people are trying to give southern hip hop a new name now that white kids and Brits are feeling it.

Its just dirty south beats.. from the high tuned snares, pitched up fills, heavy horns, and screwed up vocals. Its dirty south beats

Its a bit.pretentious to make a new name.for something that's been around for ages

agreed, and i also dislike the idea of pinning old genre names onto new sounds. you'd think that the english language lends itself to enough variety that we don't need to start repeating just yet

Especially I'd they just said something like "hip hop returns to the dancefloor" it would have such a greater impact and pride to the music. Its brought attention back to the beats but.its.being lost.in the pretentious pitchfork culture of subtended names. Shame too

LOL. First, take a rhythmic genre with space and heavy sub-bass. Then, mutate this genre by over-simplifying the drums and turning the sub-bass into a noisy, spastic screeches. Finally, remix this new bastard genre so that it starts to sound a lot like a the original form that it once had, and have people love it.

Brilliant!

Not really a fan. It's all about the TNGHT remix of that tune anyway.
