Id have to agree with this, though I think the reason your asking the question is because this theme or idea (directly occupy movement related or not) wasnt fully explained or portrayed....

OK, so thieves (catwoman) want to steal from the rich, and her mate Bane (they are somehow connected but we're never told how, were just meant to take it all crims are mates) wants to smash up the stock exchange building for a few mins (lame), then blow up Gotham (btw havnt we seen this before from a certain other crazed villian?)....

Then we learn Bane is from the League of Shadows (maybe thats where he knows catewoman from, & why she can fight :6: does EVERYBODY have to be from the LOS?), so refresh my memory, what was Rhas Al Ghuls story in the other flick? did he want to smash up the stock exchange building for a few mins also then blow up Gotham?

So whats the motive, did they want to take back the wealth, just scare people in stock exchange, or just blow up Gotham? Its one or the other in my book.

Catwoman was cheesy & one dimensional.

Bane had a big presence that fizzled out, how he died was shit.

It did need more Batman, the broken back thing was meh,

if there was only one that ever escaped the prison (the chick) then how did Bane get out? can people not count?

It needed a more original plot ( it was pretty much the same as the last 2 joined together)

I enjoyed it, but it could have been so much better...

Maybe we expect too much after Heath Ledger nailed it as the Joker...

You understand what they did with Bruce's money in the stock exchange right? There's not suggestion Catwoman is from the league of shadows, why should there be.

i was more refering the fact that the moral of the story pretty much is: "yes the system/establishment is corrupt but the corruption is still preferable to the chaos that would inevitably ensue if someone "liberates" (in the words of bane himself) the masses"

also the thing about the "anonymous" person being able to trigger the bomb seemed like a quite transparent nod to the whole anonymous protester thing (cf time magazine's person of the year 2011) to me.

anyway, fuck batman

My friend turned to me during the scene where you first see the little child in the pit and told me that it was actually a girl actress , just bald. I shrugged it off as just a casting decision but when they drop that twist at the end I went :O :O
I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone

He had seen the movie before, there's no way anyone can tell that in the beginning. Period.

I did. But then I guessed that woman would be Taliah.
Anyone who's read the comics could have seen that a mile off.

Also - I agree with the board - the way Bane was killed was fucking
WEAK. Bats' should have pummelled him to near death and had a
fucking steel gurder drop on him or something.
Like that line in the first film when Ra'as dies... "I'm not going
to kill you, but I don't have to save you."

That would have been some cold-as-ice shit.

If you've seen the leaked sections of the script floating around on the net you'll see quite a bit has been cut out. A Director's Cut would be amazing for this film and probably bump it up there on my list considering how much would have been cut out but Nolan has never, ever released deleted scenes since he believes in the "final" cinematic product... ignoring the fact that a few films have benefitted from this post-cinema treatment - Blade Runner final cut, anyone?

Ah right, the memory seems to have forgotten details... so they ransacked the stock exchange to take BW's moneys?

Yeah I wasnt saying that, was saying there was no story with her at all, which I didnt like,
but she somehow knows or has links with Bane, not suggesting she is LOS.
Was saying it would be a bit lame to just say all villians are LOS. Give her some kind of background! Anyways crap portrayl of catwoman overall, that scene killing Bane with a rocket off the bike was shite.

I think I see your point here, but dont think the occupy movement want to level entire cities with nuclear bombs, or am I missing something here?

EDIT* btw that clip is brilliant.

This is what I thought they were trying to get at. Sort put what I've been thinking into movie form. People are more than happy to complain about corporations and how they are corrupt/how the oil sands are going to kill us all, but in the end we still all shop at Walmart/Tesco and use power which is generated by dirty oil/gasoline.

What a terrible fucking attitude to have. If that's really the point Nolan was trying to make, fuck him.
