Well done to Nicola Adams for the gold in women's boxing and Jade Jones for the gold in TKD.
Although, in the boxing, I don't like how you are not able to see the score during rounds. And the electronic sensor system in TKD needs to go.

Surprisingly few people talking about yesterday's hockey game.

Nah, there was this debate about how it's called field hockey. But it isn't.Electric_Head wrote:What other hockey is in the Summer Olympics?
Post is a little confusing, I'll edit it.

Germany looked pretty good against Australia.
Holland on the other hand destroyed GB which is probably why there's no talk of it in here.
9-2 is a bit embarrassing for a semi-final.

Dunno about that, less embarrasing than not gettting to the semi-finals, British aren't that into Hockey so it isn't a bad overall result and get to beat Australia for the Bronze. There is also no chat of the sailing and boxing medals GB have got today....too much winning to care about loosing one game.Electric_Head wrote:Germany looked pretty good against Australia.

BMX up in a minute, quality.

Hedley - GB not that into hockey?
Do you play Hockey?
They seem to be fairly into Hockey the last time I checked.
That not to say the SA team performed any better, don't get me wrong.

Capo - I agree with your sentiments about qualifying hell getting to a semi is a pretty big deal.
It just sucks that they lost by so much in a semi when you expect closer games.
Germany actually upset Australia after the Ozzies had scored something like 27 goals in the tournament.
They clearly peaked to early and Germany took advantage.

Nah I don't so am sure some British Hockey types would argue that one with me. But it isn't a very popular game here, no professional league that I know of, never televised or any newspaper coverage that I see, but think it's pretty big for the Netherlands and other countries in Europe.Electric_Head wrote:Hedley - GB not that into hockey?

Field hockey you retards.
It's big in SA but we don't have the financial backing of the govt.
But I can tell you it's a hard, unforgiving sport.
I am a keeper and I have many bruise, aches and pains to show for it.
You imagine a ball flying at you at 100-120km/h.

The US will always have a massive advantage because their school system is far more geared up towards sport than any other country
