If we all came from Africa anyway you could argue that every country is made up of immigrants, kinda/
Read some history. Angles, Saxons, Celts, Normans, Romans, Plantagenets, Vikings, Africans, Spanish, Portuguese, Flemmish, Arabs... we've pretty much had every people in the Western world (and many beyond) to'ing and fro'ing from our shores for the best part of 3000 years.

We're an ancient Island Nation made up of island-hopping Peoples and we should be bloody proud of it. :w:

David Bowie was probably on mandy and lots of other things hence his lack of appearance at the closing ceremony.

nice to see the praise isnt restricted to UK publications, seems as though the popular worldwide consensus is that these games were one of the best (like here for example http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-blogs/2 ... close.html )

Mo Farah is a true Brit as far as I'm concerned, man has a broad london accent, has spent his formulative years here, and would call Britain his home; a great representation of our diverse society and modern britain

This medals per capita page is good - http://www.medalspercapita.com/#medals-per-capita:2012 Pretty much confirms that Jamaica were probably the most impressive nation this Olympics, and well deserved - gracious, dominating, entertaining and all round very likable - big up them

Fucking One Direction. Would've done them more good to get Posh Spice's left nut to perform a show.

Have you listened to any of his interviews? Has paid very sincere homage to a lot of people/ places that have helped him along the way. Not sure how many people share your opinion that one of the greatest Olympians of all time is a 'massive twat'

He shat on an Olympic legend for suggesting that Jamaican runners needed to be properly drug tested and then went on to say that he is the greatest athlete. Personally I'd love to see him say that to any decathlon medalist ever.

Don't know how on-topic this is but my uncle's friend Coleman Scott won a bronze medal for wrestling, big ups him. Though he did get fucked over in the prelims pretty hard.

He's the fastest man that ever lived, has multiple world/Olympics records to his name and has won multiple gold medals across different Olympics.

Think he's got a pretty good claim, TBH.

Testament to his running ability, not athleticism. He hasn't proved his endurance, strength, agility, awareness, or reactions. He just ran in a straight line.
I'll give him this, he's insanely fast and the best at what he does, but claiming the title of "greatest athlete" is arrogance.

All he said was he had lost respect for him. Lewis should have known better than to single out a specific country in relation to drug testing, obviously was going to get a bad reactions from the Jamaicans.

He called him an attention whore and a has-been as well. Lewis was pointing out a fact, Jamaica's doping policies aren't up to par with the rest of the world.
