Traktor S2, Headphone Problem

Post by pesky » Sat Aug 11, 2012 7:55 am

Before i start to explain my problem, i currently have two KRK Rokit 6's which are run through a Focusite Scarlett 2i2 with an XLR to TRS cable.

So, I invested in a S2 yesterday and set it up just by usb and then used my Scarlett as the soundcard with my headphones plugged into that.
All was well and good until i wanted to cue up in my headphones, realising that i can only hear the master output and not one deck. :o
I know about the cue mix on the front but that only works when you have your headphones plugged into the S2 jack an that isnt possible with the way i have it set up.
Also, i was originally going to buy a couple TRS to TRS leads and go straight into the S2 but i wasnt entirely sure if this was going to cause any problems because of the Scarlett and the guy at Dolphin Music explained to me that i should go through my interface for better sound. :?

Is there like a cue mix in the settings in Traktor or a different way for me to set up or something? helppp

You should be plugging your headphones into the S2 in order for that to work me thinks...

So you're running the outputs of your S2 into the Scarlett? Just the master outputs? Because I don't see why you wouldn't be able to just plug your headphones into the phone jack on the S2...

Obviously also press the CUE buttons that are located above the faders when you want to cue a track.

I have an s4, and unless you can make some sort of custom mapping, I think you need to plug your headphones into the s2 to use for the cue mix. also, make sure you run off the ac adapter because when you just run off usb, the volume levels get cut and the lights aren't fully lit.

you have a built in soundcard, why run it through another one? that's only going to give you problems. you can run straight from the s2 to whatever amp or speakers are thrown at you

edit: a few weeks ago a buddy of mine played a show with his s4. he didn't know it at the time but they were running him through another soundcard. fucked up his set big time, every time there was bass, the tempo would slow down due to the second sound card being there.
