Reggae Guitar Skank

Post by shinra » Sun Aug 12, 2012 4:12 pm

I know you can make them with VSTs etc but i'm looking for something organic, anyone got any good samples? and yes, i've googled it, just can't find any decent packs.

google it around, some guy who makes guitar libraries for kontakt uploaded a free pack recorded with high quality gear that goes through every 3 note chord and the inversions. you can also try a loopmasters sample pack.
but why not make your own? layer a mid register organ sound with a percussive timbre, a piano sound and a harpischord sound. bandpass it, light phaser, light reverb and a quick low feedback delay. maybe run it through an amp simulator if you have one, it will give you a very authentic sound. That's how dancehall and late eletronica dub skanks are made.

Damian Marley has some classic reggae sounding tracks and it wouldn't be hard to find a song of his in high quality.

I was looking for it all over the internet, didn't feel right just uploading the samples without giving credits. big up.
