Nah, Busta's got too much party in him... I put him in a totally different pile. He's a much better MC than DMX and has a waaaaaay better back-catalogue, but occasionally only the bleak antisocial violence and mumbled self-loathing of Earl will suffice. 8)

What's sad is people thinking dmx is an og. I've owned dogs that if stood up were larger than dmx. He's the Tom cruise of rap. Camera tricks and special effects to attempt to put him on the level of his peers

Does it really matter when you've got that voice? He's a rapper, not a fucking gangbanger. Are you really worried about which professional, millionaire musician is "realer" than another? It's awwwwll acting in order to make gangster sounding records... that's kind of what being a rapper's about. Johnny Cash didn't really shoot anyone in Folsom either, he just had a great voice for making records that made it sound like he did... and Denzel Washington's never been a crooked cop in case you were having trouble with Training Day.

I'd take X over most of his competition for that kind of smack-you-in-the-face rap... he was born for this shit. X is an OG in his game, but his game isn't gangbanging.... it's rap music.

M.O.P DEFINITELY QUALIFY 8)

But their quality control is even worse than X's... well over a decade as überthugs elect of NYC and they've only managed about 5 or 6 tunes actually worth listening to. The ones that are good are fucking amazing, mind... they could've just made Ante Up and left as the best one-hit-wonder rap has seen since Skee Lo, though.

Ante Up is without a doubt the best party-hype-rap song of all time!

Good shout on some of Busta's stuff to

Huuuuuge co-sign on Break Ya Neck. BANGER.

But what about M.O.P. WITH Busta?

Seriously, has there ever been a more fire-ridden rap banger than this remix? If there's anything more ignorantly thugtastic than this in the world, it needs hiding from the public for all of our safety.

I'm cool with pretty much all entertainers being actors. I'd rather give money to someone who doesn't kill people than to someone who does.

Weird, I know.

I can vouch that north American Jews aren't exactly tough

And outside the gay pornstar killer no Canadians are scary. So Drake much like X is a fucking clown

There are plenty of hard legit rappers to listen to if that's your thing.

Seriously though... rap is better for you if you believe they really did everything they said? It's not the beats and rhymes you care about? It's the pedigree of the person saying them? You want them to be that unpleasant and successful?!

I've never understood the fascination with "keeping it real". I think I like it that way too. I'd be so disappointed all the time if I wanted my rappers to do everything they say. Come to think of it, "Realness" is pretty much the only reason 50 Cent was allowed to fuck rap in the arse for about 4 years. But oooooh, he REALLY GOT SHOT AND DEALT DRUGS, GUIIIIIZEE! Fuck the content, DUDE CAN'T RAP PROPERLY BECAUSE HE'S BEEN SHOT.... THIS IS SOO FUCKING COOL!

Fuck realness.
