I have a design project for you: Your client is a young no name illustrator graduating from a no name school who happens to have immense talent. There is a good chance he will find a path to success. Our long term positive relationship with him could be very beneficial for the firm, and the careers of those who help Illustrator find that path to success. Artist has expressed an interest in the areas of high end limited edition band posters, character modeling, logo design, graphic novels and is currently writing a graphic novel based screen play. Illustrator also works in traditional media and has exhibited at several smaller galleries with mixed success. Without a brand, Illustrator has little potential to break into fine art, or any of the other illustration based fields.
To start, you should draw upon/develop contacts in Hollywood, see if any body is still buying graphic design based screenplays. If this is still a viable option, weight it's importance relative to the other potential career paths, and feature it accordingly in your designs.
We should have a portfolio/identity website featuring his work as it relates to his career ambitions. We should also have a blog with 25 legitimate comments per post, one to three solid posts a week. Work with Illustrator to develop seo optimized blog content. We'll also need social media on lock, give me a strategy on the three most relevant platforms. I'd be interested in your thoughts on how youtube could be leveraged for Illustrator.
I'd like to see an integrated seo strategy for all web projects. What three key terms are still available in this niche and should we target? How strong of a role should geographic search play in our strategy? What seo relevant urls are still available?
In terms of Illustrator's identity, male, young, urban, broadly appealing upwardly mobile Latino. If you give me barrio or gangster, you will never work again.
