for me, its not only a good track, but its WAR.. which is an important track in and of itself.. it was bob marleys rendition of a powerful speech given by hali salasi to the UN, which brought a lot of people to believe he was the rasta... remember, salasi IS the jesus reincarnat to many rastas.. and even the rastas that dont recognize him as jesus, still recognize the fact that he was a powerful man and a servant of god.. a direct decendant of king david prophesised to be Emperor of Ethiopia.

the "unknown artist" did a great job remaking such a vital moment in history, an important influence on how i am today, and restoring it for others to experience.

bless up!

read the speech given to the UN itself here (for those that are curious)

two of my pet peeves.. poor spelling and being wrong.

I think Bob would be insulted if you spelt God's name wrong...

hali salasi = Haile Selassie I
jesus = Jesus
reincarnat = reincarnate
decendant = descendant
prophesised = prophesized
king david= King David
and even the rastas that dont recognize him as jesus, still recognize the fact that he was a powerful man and a servant of god
this is nonsense...

if you dont recognize Haile Selassie I as God (Jah) then you are not a Rastafarian.

It is interesting to note that the three most famous figures from the Rastafarian movement were not Rastafarians. Namely: Haile Selassie I, Marcus Garvey and Bob Marley. Bob marley had converted to Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity before his death and Marcus Garvey and Haile Sellasie were never Rastafarians.

haha.. I'm sorry my poor spelling and non-use of Capital Letters offended you..

And you may be right.. miss-spelling King Salassie I may offend some people.. not my intent, obviously.

However, many rastas do not recognize Salassie as a reincarnation or second coming of Jesus. Some (not all) rastas do not believe in reincarnation at all. Reincarnation is (accoring to some rasta) a deception that rooted in ancient Egypt by followers of Lucifer (please note the propper use of capitalization :wink: ).

Again, Rasta does see Salassie I as a manifestation of YAH, and HIM, the prophesied "descendant" of King David in direct lineage of Solomon, destined to be Emperor of Ethiopia.. but as Jesus HIMself? No... not all Rasta.

Remember.. according to Christianity (and Rastafari are Christian), Jesus took his body with him, and will come back in the same skin and bones he floated off to the heavens in upon the rapture (should that be capitalized?).

I feel we are all manifestations of YAH, which is considered a blasphemy in Christianity. I am not Rasta, however, I have a deep love and respect for this sect of Christianity above all others.

The Pedants' Revolt starts here. Terribly sorry if correct english usage is jerkesque or uncool, Id just prefer it if people didn't chat like wrongoloids day in, day out.

You won't be happy till classics of english literature are translated into text speak will you?

This is your bright shining future. I'd have you all rounded up and shot personally, but someone needs to serve coffee all day. :wink:

foul english weather has certainly gotten the better of you this morn. :cry:

if you'd take your nose out of a book or that dolphin's arse for 2 minutes you'd see it's actually "cool" to be a jerk.

It's actually very sunny this morning. Just remember - Steve Martin was a jerk and look what happened to him.

Books are the papery things, aren't they? Or is that origami?
Hmm....
