Can't say i'm blown away. Those tracks are alright but him as a rapper - not hearing anything special at all!

Agree with Random. I don't like it when rappers leave bars and rhyme schemes hanging out that much, but he's ok. I wouldn't mind it as background music.

Kendrick is very good, but I didn't even think that much of Section.80. I thought it was a bit overrated, there is definitely some good tunes (Ronald Regan, HiiiPower, Tammy's Song and Rigamortis) but since then I really am feeling his recent output.

So fuck if he has a track with Gaga? That doesn't instantly mean it's going to be some shitty Guetta-esque beat, it could be on a hip hop tip with her on the chorus? Plus, surely it's a good thing having a show of support from someone with such a big following as Lady Gaga. They're friends too, so it's not some forced track.

Cartoons & Cereal and Swimming Pools are 2 of my favourite tunes this year, the (majority) of beats he's rapped over are solid and the guys wordplay and depth are insane. It's great that he's even getting this level of exposure.

I expect big things from this album

Well considering Dre’s even rapping on his latest tune, I’m pretty sure this one’s going through…

You don’t hear Dre just out and featuring on people’s music. Ever.

This.

I'm sure there will be a couple of "big" lead singles... the boy's got to make some bank, but I haven't felt loyalty to an MC like this in ages. He'll get the job done.

Yeah, he needs to eat and fund his future. I reckon there
will be a couple of commercial tracks and the rest of it will
be full of bangers.

J. Cole had a great mix of stuff on Sideline Story - that was one
of the under-rated commercial albums of last year - if KL can do
something like that, I'll be happy to buy it.

Listened to all the tracks in this thread now and I have to say.....i'm converted!

Took a few tracks to realise he actually has a sick flow and he seems to be working with some good producers so i'm now dying to hear what he'll do with Dre on Aftermath. That's assuming Dre will actually be producing some/all of his album...???

I imagine a singer like Lady Gaga is quite moldable. Doesn't seem like theres any thought behind her work at all.
It's not like she can't sing either.

Kendrick didn't really impress me at first, but after a whole I just 'got it'. Been playing the hell out of Section 80 in the past couple months. I love Swimming Pools too. Give him a chance, he might grow on you.

I don't think many artists have put as much effort into creating a persona and playing it out like Gaga does? I would say there is rather a lot of thought behind her work actually.

I really enjoy several Gaga songs, and she's one of the better pop artists out there. (can't top JT though :) )I'm just afraid this might be a bad combination.

Paparazzi is such a tune. :U:
