To give you an idea of how seriously it's taken, this team is in the top division of the country (it's only amateur), and they're asking if I know anybody else that would be interested in coming alongehbrums1 wrote:you have american football over there? what position you going for?garethom wrote:I started a new program about 6/7 weeks ago (trying to add a bit of weight/just get stronger for american football trials around october) and I'm seeing really good gains. When I started I literally couldn't do a single wide grip pull up, now I do 3 sets of max reps (usually about 4 or 5). It's when you consider things like that, it gives you the motivation to continue.Today wrote:seeing how many pushups/pullups we could do was basically the only thing we played as kids
i can do 33 in a row right now![]()
I'm gonna go for wide receiver. Played as a winger at Rugby for 5/6 years when I was younger, I'm pretty fast, think I'm pretty good at catching, got a decent jump and I'm not ridiculously hench enough to play anywhere else.

Yeah I never really thought about it, that just seemed natural to me.Ferryman wrote:Yeah that's what I thought. And thinking about it, overhand narrow would be tricky as fuck with the way the body is built.... as would underhand wide.garethom wrote:Overhand for wide grip, underhand for standard.Ferryman wrote:
it's a good measure though, if you're pushing yourself to the limit. From zero to 3 sets of 5 is pretty good progress in a short amount of time.
Also, are we talking overhand grip or underhand? I always go for overhand - when I can do those I'll be happy. I can do underhand narrow grip ones OK but not loads... it's the overs that are hard and I'm having no joy with.
That shit is ridiculous.faust.dtc wrote:wub wrote:faust.dtc wrote:I went to a seminar once and saw a guy do one fingered push ups on a coconut.

Needs more coconut though...

In theory 2 identical posts about a 1 armed push up is the equivalent of a normal 2 armed push up.Ferryman wrote:Reposthugh wrote:I don't get one armed push ups, I always just fell over to one side when I tried them lol
your process is flawed. Also, caps: why do they bother you? I NEVER TURN OF CAPS UNLESS I WANT TO. ITS SOMETHING I PICKED UP FROM HANGING WITH MICK HARRIS WHO'M I DOUBT YOU KNOW. OBV THE FIGHTING BIT WASNT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY=,? ?
My thought process goes like this:
Finds push up handles in my loft.
Try to do some push ups.
FInd it tough.
Want to improve.
Go to PC and look up push ups.
Find the push up challenge.
Decide ill give it a go to better my technique and increase strength.
While on PC I see DSF is open.
Remembers the site is becoming stagnant.
Decide to create thread to create discussion.
People happily contribute.
Dickhead who has difficulty grasping thread spoils it.

here's what you should have done :
Find push up handles in your 'loft': forget the word loft
Try to do some push ups: how can you try to do push ups? You either do them or don't. You're in dire need of more intellectually challenging hobbies, that's my personal advice for you. Sarcasm detector has been proven to be low for starters, trademark of people who need their brains trained.
Find it tough: Obviously it is going to be tough, other wise it would be like jacking off
Want to improve? LOL ( CAPS ARE DELIBERATE HERE). => here I skip for a bit to this part

=> Replace dickhead by superior being. I contributed very happily, there were lol's all around. Difficulty grasping thread => again your sarcasm detector didn't flash.
YOU DON'T NEED PUSH UPS, YOU NEED A GOOD OLD BOOK AND SOME TIME AWAY FROM YOUR LOFT

there, finally some acknowledgement. I'm satisfied now => gonna do some pushdowns now because they ain't paying me enough at work: it's where I push the gravity of the universe away with my body.faust.dtc wrote:Great post joeki, it is so good and informative! Thanks for your good sharing!
