yeah, so a producer actually is one of the biggest jobs in moviemaking. the "executive producers" don't do shit, they just give a lot of money to the making of the movie and in return make a lot of cash if it does well and get their names listed at the beginning
but a producer is the guy who works his ass off every single day to make sure that the process of the creation of the movie does well - this means a lot of overseeing, giving advice, calls and emails to put certain things in place, connecting the dots, etc. It's a jack-of-all-trades job


A director is the guy who runs the set every day. He briefs the actors, tells the cameramen what to do, determines whether the actors did a good take or not, gives them advice and tells them what they did wrong if they didnt do a good take, etc - he's the bossman of the set, and it's just as important to have a good director as it is to have good actors
