Yeah this doesn't surprise me. The mafia essentially runs Quebec and shit like this happens all the time.
We could help them out, but you know, they wanna be their own country and etc

All about Vermont maple syrup anyway. Comes in a tincture glass thing that looks like it's from 1834.
I used to keep weed in an empty one, gave it an amazing little hint of maple smell/taste.

Insurance Fraud.
Probably underproduced or a bad batch (or something like that) and then claimed it was stolen but I bet that warehouse never had the syrup in it to begin with.
Some Excel pages were tampered with, other people who weren't involved, got involved and launched an investigation, news hit the media, entire thing out of control.
"THEFT!"

Re: You're on thin ice canada
Was just working this out.
$30 million missing in syrup
Maple Syrup is $30 USD per gallon.
That's approx. 1,000,000 gallons for arguments sake.
So it's probably in 55 gallon drums, on pallets.
A tanker can hold 4000 gallons.
4 drums to a pallet, 18 pallets to a tanker.
That equals 250 tankers.
Two men should be able to load a tanker in a half hour, and the warehouse might have 4 loading bays.
So at best that would require 62.5 sessions of loading the tankers, all told requiring 31.25 hours of loading time.
Travel distance of the trucks in unknown, so if you only had four trucks you're not looking at an overnight operation.
Quebec is on a major waterway, and the syrup could be loaded onto a vessel in one go fairly quickly. A crane and a dozen longshoremen could get this job done in one night... if the syrup was in shipping containers.
The robbers would likely have a buyer sorted before the heist, so in one month look at the food store to see what brand is on sale, and you have found your mastermind!

don't think it's big in the uk tbf
Chatting breeze mate. Get yourself some proper maple and put it on some nicely cooked bacon that is about 75% towards the crispy side of things.
Try that.
Tell me it's not sex on your mouth.
Re: You're on thin ice canada
I wasn't sayin it tasted bad, just didn't think it was a popular product in the uk.
But will try that man sounds good, I love mixing sweet and savoury
