Trifle - Cylon Dub (Dub-Step from Australia)

Post by trifle » Wed May 16, 2007 12:32 pm

hey guys

i'm a tearout breaks DJ from Perth, Australia, but im also into a bit of trip-hop, dnb and pretty much anything broken-beat... i've been producing for a while now, but thought i'd try my hand at some dub-step; i've only really been listening to it for the last couple of months (so im still learning the aesthetics of the genre), but i'm really loving it...

i'd really appriciate feedback from crew like yourselves (that eat, sleep & breath dub-step), to give me constructive criticism on how i could improve it...

i hope you guys enjoy this track... :)

check out a 320kbps MP3 stream of it at http://www.myspace.com/djtrifle

ps. the tribal percussion & strings are sampled from Battlestar Galactica (hence the name of the tune)...

Love BSG :D

This track is cool I like the strings part too

I'd prefer the snare to cut through a bit more, nice strong subby bass line though :D

I like how the tempo feeling speeds up towars the end, that's one of the things I love about dubstep that it can be laid back or breaky, even in the same track.

Good work mate 8)

i like this one...not sure if its cuz of the myspace re-encoding but the drums could be louder, they're pretty much in the background and the piano & strings are a tad too loud in the mix...other than that i'm feeling this one...if you decide to re-do the mixdown i'd like a 320 if possible 8)

peace
