Im really into this ep. I have been a fan of A1 since the girl thing 12". If you have followed his music since 08 you can hear the progression in his music, i don't think he has his own sound but you can tell his material with the way he produces. I guess it takes time for a producer to find his sound, just unlucky everything he has done has been good enough quality to be exposed. There are a lot of producers who have changed with the time to be current and keep music progressing, look at the swamp stuff, Zed Bias, MJ Cole. Even Joy was writing Fidget House when that was Trendy but his stuff now is totally different but is still really good.

If music is good enough quality i don't think there is anything wrong with being diverse with the music you write.

As people get older, their tastes change. I for one am glad to see him experimenting with new styles and excelling in them too.

Not many artists can say they've released tunes on Southern Fried and Dirtybird, as well as having set up their own label.

not saying taste's don't change, and i won't lie, i've played some of his stuff out before. maybe i was a bit irreverent with my first comment but i stand by the message: dude is a good producer (definitely not amateur) but doesn't offer much in the way of novelty or originality. the whole point is that, regardless of when the music was written (as though that matters, by the way...you think people only hear tunes after they're released? ) his music just blends in with the rest of the scene to me. it doesn't stand out.

as for that "cut the hate or fuck off" bit, basically what you're saying is either support the music or don't express an opinion. well i think you know where you can shove that advice, mate.

regardless, samey and/or boring music can get released by good labels. look at that paleman/zed bias collab coming out on swamp. huge label, huge producer in the mix, but a boring and dated track imo.
