go to the morrocon cafe, chat to the lady, get some falafel, make some tea and eat your baklava whilst listening to your song.
solo the 3 elements which you definately want to keep, think of deleting the others.
write a poem
go for a walk by the river
turn off the fucking internet.
meditate, or if you can't, try to.
do this all the time, also while having shits.

even the 45 king kept the "hard knock life" beat blasting while he was writing it, and went downstairs in his apartment building to hear what it sounded like through the floor.

Very deliberate Sample choice

Just wait, don't settle. We all make throwaways but some days you just really have to dig your heels in and hit the vinyl, sample packs, Digital releases hard
for a couple hours.

Second,

No random ambiance

Throwing rain, static, birds, or whatever in tracks sounds like a really bad yoga cd's when you don't execute it well.

and chainsmoke my way through the gaps in between my aspirations and my apathy.

[quote="Hircine"]"Simple" is the best way

i like to think going with your first idea is one, in most cases anyway

Less is more
Take out rather than put in.
Subtract rather than add.
Short rather than long.
