This is the official liquid dubstep thread.

In this thread I suggest we:

a) Define Liquid Dubstep
b) Describe and recreate typical liquid techniques
c) Consider and compare with other non-dubstep liquid styles like Liquid Drum 'n Bass.

Here's a mix for reference:


I would define Liquid Dubstep as dubstep music with romantic vocals and lyrics, usually female, and usually a remix of girly pop songs.

I think chillstep is a little more ambient, whereas liquid is more romantic.

Why does it not exist when different people are using the term to describe similar music?

This brings me to the other reasons for the thread, that there is a lack of awareness of the style, and the term is a little nebulous.

If anything, its called "deeper" dubstep - just to make a differential from brostep/tear out.
