How you can contribute:
* Suggest software. We still need a general purpose sampler

I think the original free studio that FuturesUntold put together is a better option imo.
Why would you suggest 3 demo options over freeware?
Not bashing this idea but I don't see the relevance of a demo when you have awesome freeware out there.

I actually prefer this. The demos are more powerful I think.

I agree that the software chosen is powerful.
I use most of it all the time.
I just don't like the idea of 30 min demos when there is very capable freeware out there.
I think the limitations are enough to out way the pros.

This is all my opinion though.
If this works for you I know it will work for others.

IMO this isn't really the intended purpose of demo software and as such I'd say morally this is the same as piracy. So if you do this you might as well save yourself the trouble and go all-out. Not saying I'm a fan of either but if you're gonna pirate you might as well do it properly.

wow this isnt a very big studio
nothing wrong with using a demo for personal use but if bouncing out your work out and using those sounds later in a release wouldn't be 100% legit since im sure that's not allowed.
(EDIT) i see what you mean now:

Yeah if you're using it for more than evaluation purposes then it's no longer a demonstration, so you might as well download the full version. It's the same thing but one is 10x harder.

I'd never bother with a demo version though, either pay up or get some freeware IMO. Will probably save you a lot of trouble in the long run I'd say.

Add the TAL plugins at least, if you are going to make a "free studio" get the best free stuff in it

Reaper (DAW/Sequencer)
Audacity (audio editing)
TAL Suite (effects/mixdown/mastering tools)
dbGlitch (just because)
Synth1 (most powerful freeware synth I can think of)
etc
etc

Any other suggestions?

the poster is too much of a damn noob to try any of the suggested synths.
all im saying is sonigen modular even though iv mentioned it in other threads :D

You really reckon Dimension Expander is an important element in a free studio?

It just sounds good on 80% of tracks. Stereo width can be done other ways, but it's pretty unique/easy.
