cheers if you can help
get acid pro and beatmap a dubstep track ny track and zoom in and look at the beats...alternatively try hitting record on reason and using midi keyboard to play the drum with a metronome-bout 140 bpm

ha ha nice.

ive been setting tempo to 140, making a beat usaully snares on 5 and 13 then altering events by 50% for soem halfstep shit and it sounds nice so im working around that method, if i dont alter to 50% it sounds like breaks too much though.

do whatever you want, don't limit your music because people say it's not dubstep.
plus, there's a lot of snares of different famous dubstep tunes that don't match when mixed together. :P

Jesus! Tell me about it!
Beatmixing last night with the hangover from hell was a nightmare.

As it has been said many times before, dubstep is about progression and fresh ideas, especially with the drums. Experiment!

Start with standard 2step-garage-breakbeat-ish drums, then start shiftin' and erasing the notes when you have the some of the basic structural elements laid down.

I'm pretty sure most of my records were either 236 or 42 BPM on sunday.

could be 70bpm if ya wanted to get squarepushery on da beats or 320 for mad patterns with synth?

if ya produce at 70 bpm to get detail the speed it up to 140 its sounds like gabba-but really well produced
