Best Distortion/Overdrive plugins?

Post by Trible » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:48 pm

So I'm in the parket for a new Distortion/Overdrive plugin that i can lightly touch the bass with to make it dirtier/filthier when needed.
Recomendations?

Devastor usually does the trick for me. Ohmicide is a great pluging or so i've heard. I haven't quite got the hang of it yet. Also, sometimes i use the distortion on guitar rig on my basslines.
Hope this helps you. D16 Devastor would be a good startup plugin it has some great presets.

I like saturn, you can either destroy a sound or just add a little grit without changing the basis of your sound. You can get really precise.

You can try it free for 30 days, I would if I were you.

Massive itself, or if using a vst with no distortion units get ohmicide or something familiar , dont over complicate yourself with so much effects and stuff :h:

I never really got on with ohmicide tbh.. although i'm almost certain its just the gay interface.

I personally use Saturn (great for multiband distortion and a great interface for being precise), Camelphat and izotope trash is good and there are a load of really useful presets kicking about for that that can be tweaked easily.

AD Kombinat, if you want to really destroy the audio, personally I love it.

Ohmicide has a really weird interface but I'm telling you, you can add some insanely cool character to a sound with it if you have a fiddle, it's so much more than just overdrive.

agreed there are some crazy distortion types in there for creating new sounds + its a good price
i use it way more than ohmicide since ohmicide's more useful parameters are the size of a needle :u:
my eyesight is too bad to be using ohmicide often, i wish they would change the gui already!
