Oh yeah, so is this part of the Baltimore sound they have been talking about? Can anyone shed some light on this?

amazing track!
Re: Club Constructions Volume 3 (Night Slugs)
This tune is stupid.
But I love it
But I love it

Re: Club Constructions Volume 3 (Night Slugs)
Does anyone else think this sounds cheap? It's energetic, I can see it working on the dance floor, but I'm not particularly impressed by this and I dare state that without the Night Slugs tag, this would fall into obscurity.
L-Vis 1990 remix is a bit better.

Re: Club Constructions Volume 3 (Night Slugs)
Maybe that's a bit of insight into why Night Slugs might sign it... Bmore club music isn't really a big thing internationally and perhaps Bok and L-Vis wanted to push this track a little harder, and the CC series is the perfect platform for this kind of music. Plus if I were L-Vis and I had that edit sitting around I know I'd want to put that shit out as soon as I could.joeki wrote:without the Night Slugs tag, this would fall into obscurity.
Nice one Night Slugs!

Re: Club Constructions Volume 3 (Night Slugs)
I never understood the Baltimore thing. Maybe because this kind of energetic repetitive dance music is being played in Belgium on mainstream parties and even radio ever since the Nineties (I'm not saying exactly Bmore style, just similar). But when you put some nice and warm bass on it and elevate the production (like L-Vis has done), I could really enjoy this on a night out, I'll admit to that gladly.
Re: Club Constructions Volume 3 (Night Slugs)
do people not understand that this is a re-issue of an old, old, old track?
they probably included the original for two reasons:
1) b-more is awesome
2) to give some historical context to the l-vis remix
if people just saw the l-vis remix they would be all "LOLWUT WHO IS KW GRIFF DOES HE MAEK THE DERPSTEP? DOES HE HAVE A MYSPAEC?"

good point, though I personally still feel B-more is too much kitsch. I get an almost 'happy hardcore' deja vu when listening to it
. But that is very personal of course.
Btw, if any one thinks they can change my mind, I've got an open mind and limited knowledge of the style. Always willing to learn and discover more.

cheers man, I'll check that out.
Re: Club Constructions Volume 3 (Night Slugs)
Played the remix last night at a wobble-oriented jam to a younger crowd and it went off sick. Slipped it in with one of those new Kill Frenzy things on dirtybird, worked right in there.
Sick remix, tune is absolutely rough.

sounds like the kind of criticism people level at grime. the cheapness is part of the charm.joeki wrote:Does anyone else think this sounds cheap? It's energetic, I can see it working on the dance floor
