i think i need to spend more time learning and less time producing. i listen and dissect other peoples music everyday (like Distance, tes la rok, datsik, liquid stranger) i do spend alot of time learning but it seems like everywhere i look its people teaching the same thing maybe im googleing the wrong things (electronic music production tips, music theory, side chain compression, etc) i also have read the whole production bible. im pretty good at video games :D but i have been playing since the days of nes, snes now its ps3 and i kick ass but i have been playing since i can remember. maybe i over analyzing it maybe i just need to relax i just feel like im missing something but i cant figure out what it is.

maybe its because i started with hip hop and went straight to dubstep... maybe i should pick an easier genre?

There is no "easy" mate.

Maybe it's because you're googling instead of reading down in the technical-production-hardware section, the dubstep bible and learning off the right places.

Silly silly!

Also just a tip, Dissecting is cool and all, but experimenting on your own is waaaay better on the learning curve.

And on top of that, listen to your fav artists and outside your box every day on loud of your miserable life till you feel you got the hang of how some things work.
Then go back, make a new tune everyday, some youll finish some you'll never bother with again, some you'll hate and some you'll absolutely love. :dunce:

just dont give up.

imho the best way of learning/improving is ofc with others. (see throughout the history of mankind^^)

ofc you can read your A** of and watch 10k tutorials.

However, i would suggest to pay a Pro, to work through a whole Track of yours, 1 kick till mastering.

you'll learn much faster/better, and you can ask questions^^

i dont plan on giving up i have come to far. Ihave read a little on the production bible but probably not as much as i should. I seem to stick with youtube and google because i like to stick to daw friendly tuts. I wish i had the money to pay a pro but im so broke that i had to some of my ps3 games just to get a $50 midi (which actually help production alot) but between all the bills i pay and food and all cigarettes i smoke while in production mode i dont really have an extra 200 to throw at a pro :( im not quite sure what ofc means... but i think maybe i should? i think i have found someone to collab with lets see how it turns out... i started a track last night and got really into it (for once n my production career i didnt have any interruptions) i spent like 3 hours on it and its far from finished but so far im seeing that its probably gonna be my best so far plus its already longer than 45 seconds :D

I actually like your style man. You just need to work on making your own synth's and experiment around a little more. Read the production bible too.
Drum beats, build up's, break downs. change some melodies along the way. Go nuts. Don't hold anything back.
That old tune "I Dream about you" I could get into if you just threw in your knowledge you've gained now as suppose to a month ago. Really hope you keep your enthusiasm along the way.

Also that link does not work.

As for the rest, check the collab thread.
