May I suggest buying (at least) one? Surely you're missing out on too much by not having one.

You miss out on the visceral pleasure of holding a plate in your hands, putting it on the deck, cueing it up and mixing it. People can justify piracy to themselves in many different ways - I think it's ok to download a TV show if it isn't broadcast at all in your country - but I can't accept that there's "no choice" but to download dubstep tunes on the basis that you just don't want to buy a deck. Do you love the music or not? I do, so I bought decks.

Extreme view their mate

I wouldn’t say you need to buy music to love it, and you don’t need to buy it to support as well.

Going to gigs is more often then not a better way to support. I swear DJs make more from bookings then sales.

Yeh i know, some producers don't play out as often so my argument is kinda faulted, but so is yours because not many people can afford/have the space/ time to buy decks (hifi/speakers/amps etc).

Not that i'm saying its ok to illegally download, and i'm not that bothered about labels releasing MP3's just understanding why people download.

YES, Lean FWD is a percy.
DIGITAL RELEASE please, also my car needs this one playing loudly.
:D
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?

I think it amounts to the same thing then. If you love that TV show then book a flight innit.

hahahahah....u what?

what your talking about is everything but the actual music mate, i may miss out on getting an erection when i hold a plate, put it on the deck, cue it up and eventually climaxing when i mix it in! but im sure i get just as much enjoyment out of the actual music, which at the end of the day is why were all here.

imo any record comapny that dosent put out a digital release has no right to complain about people illegally downloading there music.

@ Thomas - i totally agree, im friends with a few artists and have had a few down at my night and most seem to make all there money from gigs.

i have to disagree with you there. if a label makes a choice to make their music available only on vinyl, then it's their right to keep it that way, as they are the sole owners of the recording and can choose to release it/not release it on whichever format they choose.

Wise words from an unrecoverable degenerate vinyl addict
lol yeah, my bank balance has taken an unmerciful beating since i got decks

its pretty naive to say that everyone should get decks if they love music because lots of people simply wont have enough money to shell out on turntables, let alone vinyl once the addiction kicks in. but for those that can they should. im still pretty poor at mixing but i still get loads of pleasure out of it, and it does feel nice to know im supporting the scene, especially when so many people just download tracks (something i have to admit im guilty of too sometimes)

i do understand that mate, and in a perfect world you'd be right. Fact is people love mp3's and stuff will get ripped and uploaded. imo you got two choices, to sit back and let it happen and not complain or do something about it and give people who dont buyt vinyl a choice to support artists.
