set up an effect rack with a wet chain and a dry chain... wet chain is delay on 100% wet... then you can invert as you see fit with a utility plug.zerbaman wrote:Don't think this was asked and I suppose anybody who's abelton proficient could answer this,
Does abelton have an invert delay? Not ping pong, just something that delays with an inverted stereo out... if that makes sense?
Does anyone use any freeware ones?

i think it's been done (as a proof-of-concept more than anything), but AFAIK it's too slow to be a real contender for any serious audio applications.dubesteppe wrote:in school we are using java to program. would it be possible for me to create some decent vsts with it?

Hey,
Just wondering why you've been using Ableton all this time and not the more conventional 'industry standard' ones such as Logic, PT or Cubase? Do you feel like it has held you back in anyway? I.e. the fact that it eats so much CPU?
My mixdowns are pretty average across the board, but specifically I feel that Logic or Cubase wins out in overall final mix quality in comparison. Any thoughts on this?
No DAW debate intended.
Also thought I would add - you talk alot about layering racks in Ableton etc. How do you know what to layer with what? Do you know exactly which drums work together well? I.e. a 909 kick with a 707 kick on top?
I've tried what your talking about and felt like I was just blindly sticking things on top of eachother and they would get muddy eventually. How many times to layer too?
Thanks man.
