Companies do online surveys or public opinion polls because they are to amateurish to think of it themselves?
Isn't it normal you go ask your possible viewer base what might attract them?

okay, well just imagine someone posting a poll in the production forum of 9 different audio clips of a tune each with a different snare, asking "which snare should i use?"

like i said, if you even remotely value your skills and judgement as a designer/artist/whatever, you're not gonna go asking random people to make major design decisions for you.
