BIO
London based migrant Ross Tones makes music under the ever so pertinent moniker Throwing Snow. Drawing influences from a vast array of genres his productions have a consistent comforting warmth yet glistening coldness. Following his compelling debut on Alex Nut’s Ho_Tep he has remixed the likes of Gold Panda, Sinden and Eskmo resulting in radio support from tastemakers Gilles Peterson and Benji B and guest appearances on Kiss FM and Ministry of Sound.
2011 saw critically acclaimed releases on Raffertie’s label Super, with hotly tipped vocalist PY, Jamie Russel’s Sneaker Social Club and Local Action picked up by Radiohead’s Tom Yorke.
This year started with a bang as Throwing Snow dropped the first XLR8R Podcast of 2012; further releases including an EP on his Snowfall imprint and the unveiling of a sought after live set, supporting Daedelus and Bonobo, will signify a defining year for this burgeoning producer.
