It's often the production that makes stuff like that good though, some parts of tracks can have the most dull riff ever but the guitar tone, tight kick drums, bass impact, and overall coherence of the mix (without the drums sounding too obviously like triggered samples) can make it sound awesome to me.

Is djent really a proper genre though?

I'm not talking down on Djent, i personally like the sound of it. It's quite heavy when it's not just breakbeat after breakbeat. And i don't really think so. It's just a group of technical death metal guys who like breakdowns with space and 8 string guitars, haha.

My bands song, i tracked bass on it, and we have 2 vocalists. Please tell me what you think. The drums were programmed but our drummer can play it. In fact he always counts it off at 280 haha.
