Lots of people around me slating Daniel Craig as Bond, I actually think he does a really good job. Waiting for Skyfall atm...noam wrote:thank fuckwub wrote:

Fantastic. Have to be in the mood but very few movies have made me think/question myself like this one

What Time is it There?

Well this probably wins the award for slowest film I've ever seen. I didn't necessarily dislike it but it's point could have been made in a 15 min short. Pretty depressing as well so not one to watch if you're already feeling down.

Gave this a watch last night, really enjoyed it. Thought it was funny, awkward and heart-breaking in equal measure. Mavis is certainly one of the more interesting characters in recent cinema. Cheers for the recommendation.wub wrote:

Went & Saw Killing them softly last night.

Would say its worth a watch. Some of the cinematography & dialogue in it is great but I definitely felt like there could have been more to it. Brad Pitt is cool as fuck as expected!

Bruce Parry - Amazon
Man travels the full length of the amazon from it's source in the Andes (with motherfucking ALPACAS in the first episode) to where it meets the Atlantic ocean. Illegal gold mining, logging, cocaine production, fishing, tribal stuff...quality watch.

Really disappointed with this to be honest. It might look nice and be very tidily put together (technically) but there is no depth to it. To me it was lost in no man's land between the political/economical allegory and the story in front of you, in which I couldn't (see a reason to) care less about the outcome of a single character. Except Tony Soprano, who was funny for all the 10 minutes he featured.defoxster wrote:Went & Saw Killing them softly last night.

Though I'll say I may have missed something glaring that gave the story some poignancy. Perhaps an American or anyone who really closely followed the last US election might have taken a lot more from this film.
The particularly violent scene was horrible, too. I know that was the point of it, (brilliant from Liota really) but I really didn't enjoy watching that bit.

Just finished Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. Watch if you haven't, great thriller/mystery.
