I can't wait to teach my nephew to skate.

was chatting with seven and he asked for my demos. proceeded to say that my stuff is just melodic drones and boring lines. i should be thankful for feedback but im really disheartened now

Don't be disheartened...you got honest feedback from someone who knows what they're talking about. That's worth more than 10,000 "sik blud!" comments on SC.
You could even give the man a shout back thanking for his comments, and asking him about other aspects of the your productions, like mixdown or something...find out the bits that he feels are decent, then start looking at improving/expanding on the more negative points he's highlighted.

thats why im kind of happy about it. he took the time to listen and analyse my tunes, and gave me honest feedback. but thats also the reason im disheartened: he basically said every aspect of my production was wrong haha. we had a good long chat on fb chat, pretty much everything was covered. sort of lost inspiration to produce now, will probably leave it a few days

You're better off getting back into the studio ASAP and trying to work on what he's highlighted whilst it's fresh in your mind.

Although it's worth taking advice on board, remember that taste is taste... it's all very subjective. One man's Girl's Aloud is another man's
Girl's Afuckingloud.
