Re: breakcore/noise/other
Gonna see venetian snares in a couple of weeks.
Re: breakcore/noise/other
Saw Snares last week, not the biggest fan but it was alright. The soundsystem totally wasn't up to it though, super gain-y, considering the bombardment of snares it was pretty painful.
Today's new listening includes;
Curse of The Golden Vampire (debut with Alec Empire, 2nd release worth getting?), Phantomsmasher (wtf) and Dalek vs Kid606 EP.

i dont remember which one it was but one of them sucked in my opinion. so if you liked the first one its probably the second one that sucks.wubstep wrote: Curse of The Golden Vampire (debut with Alec Empire, 2nd release worth getting?)

I like their 2nd album more than one with Alec Empire. More noisecore-ish.wubstep wrote:Saw Snares last week, not the biggest fan but it was alright. The soundsystem totally wasn't up to it though, super gain-y, considering the bombardment of snares it was pretty painful.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
Allmost forgot these:
a few Hetzer sets too, uploaded them some time ago, don't think they're on the raggacore site anymore, google for tracklists yourself, I never really got tired of the Strictly Irie double.
freaksound fm mix
http://www.mediafire.com/?0wzjyiymjoo
inna gabba dub stylee
http://www.mediafire.com/?2zzjizfgynk
once upon a time mix (old school hardcore jungle)
http://www.mediafire.com/?at2zznn2zh3
strictly irie one
http://www.mediafire.com/?moy53qnhzvj
strictly irie two
http://www.mediafire.com/?zzonxhdvyal
there's another set I'd like to share, but since it's never been put on internet, only tape released in 2000 I think, I'd have to confirm if it's ok to share the link, more on that soon

Re: breakcore/noise/other
This is fucking legit. I know you posted the track list but i'm a retard, what is the track at 32:10 and the one at ~63:45, the one he's scratching over?Genevieve wrote:An old Mark N mix. Re: breakcore/noise/other
Don't know 'bout the first one, but the second one is 'No Try' by Epsilon!
Am I making stuff up when I'm saying that Epsilon's a big influence on later-era Venetian Snares? A lot of Snares' melodies as of late sound like they could've been on an Epsilon tune.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
Cheers for the Epsilon pointer, found the full length on Youtube, it's fucking sick.
I see what you mean, the low bit melody in this track in particular really sounds like it could have been on Hospitality or Detrimentalist, even the drum programming is similar. Could well have been an influence. Nice sound though.
Just ordered the Bright Black In The Sun EP, hyped for the delivery! Really getting back into this style again.

OH WAIT. First tune is Evol Intent - 7 Angels With 7 Plagues
I wound back and listened from beginning and recognized their drum programming style.

ERMAHGERD KETHARSES
loving the reggaeton-esque part in that one
all their tunes sound the same but they're some of the most playful guys out there when it comes to rhythms

I think we're doing an awesome jobb here. This thread started only a few months ago and it's already got as many posts as the jungle one.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
Cheers for the Evol Intent ID, big ch00n!
By the way, did anybody ever hear Cakebuilder's (ad noiseam, cock rock disco i think) dubstep stuff? I didn't know i had it on my MP3 player, cam up and was surprised, its pretty sick! Just one EP from 07 i think, nothing since
Dat intro
There's a brostep Cakebuilder out there too so i was kind of shocked until i realised they were different.
moving it out of that weird "other music" sub forum boosted the input like mad.

yeah, Cakebuilder's dubstep EP was great. Shame he didn't release much. His other project, Distorted Memory is good too.
