Using vengeance samples for a release
Are you able to use vengeance samples in a release on a record label.
Im using quite a few one shot bass sounds in an electro track of mine and someone said something about vengeance not allowing this?
Does this even matter?

Everyone uses vengeance samples. And I'm pretty sure, after you process the samples (id assume your not just using raw samples) they can't prove where u got it from.
Also, why would they sell samples if they didn't want people to use them in songs?

first song I ever completed: Soundcloud

I have proccessed the hell out of em, I dont really know but it says in their license for some reason you shouldnt use them in a commercial release so I didnt wanna release a song and have to pay like 50 times what it will probably makeFowles wrote:Everyone uses vengeance samples. You can't use them in a commercial release if they're on there own, I think is the wording. Basically you must use them in a composition (as you have done) - you can't sell a piece of just made of the their sounds one after the other, for example BASS001-5 Seconds of silence-BASS002-5 Seconds of silence-BASS03 etc.

Re: Using vengeance samples for a release
yes theyre royalty free, what u cant do is sell or provide them as part of a sample pack. you can use them in any type of song.
the reason why someone might have said its not allowed is because some of the sample packs terms and conditions says that you CANT use them in a commercial release.. but this was cleared up on KVR by the owner that it was a mistype, they meant you CAN use it in commercial releases.
not very professional i know but thats vengeance for you

EDIT: i noticed u said u processed the hell out of them, that means theyre your own sounds now so tbh you really have nothing to worry about.

Re: Using vengeance samples for a release
Vengeance steal a load of samples from other packs anyway so I wouldn't worry about it.
Re: Using vengeance samples for a release
Yeah screw 'em, they've made enough money and fame from other peoples' sounds.
Re: Using vengeance samples for a release
There was a big thread on this at (I think) Gearslutz. Their Q&A basically says "der" you can use them. Their agreement is a bit vague, though.
They also claimed in an email to have synthed the samples themselves. It's especially their old packs which seem to have lifted others' recordings.
