A headphone jack broke off in my computer.

It was bent and such from my previous comp. The jack is like 2-3 years old an it was slightly bent. The wire goin to it was going across my room, someone must've come in and stepped on it close to my comp and it just broke off in there. Now i can't plug in my headphones. :/

About your headphone incident
Buy or obtain some really powerful glue that dries rather quickly, now apply the glue to a slim object. Right off hand I would say strip down a pen tube and use the slimmer white part that holds the ink it will slide right onto the end of your broken headphone jack. Let it dry and just work it out, repeat if necessary.

iv just started using a usb soundcard because of a similar problem, my advice is dont buy a shitty cheap one, it took a day for mine to break, i shelled out 35 quid for mine and its sturdy as fuck and sounds decent too, just a shame my headphones themselves broke too..

If its a desktop and the jack was on the front you could just replace it.

this has happened to me a few times, the connector snaps at one of the plastic rings (seperating L from R) with a small nubbin sticking out of the back (but, unfortunately, not sticking out of the laptop). the nubbin is metal but is surrounded by the plastic divider ring.

Both times it took me at least an hour or 2 but I finally managed to grip the nubbins with a pair of long jewellers pliers -



If that doesn't work, get some thing like a thin nail/needle/screw, heat it up and push it into the plastic divider ring (if it's showing). Once the plastic has set round the nail/screw, try easing it out, hopefully it will hold with enough strength to pull out.

if you really can't get it out with those methods, you should be able to see inside the port by taking the casing off of your laptop (get an anti static band) although nowadays alot of these ports are totally sealed so you won't be any better off. Unfortunately the only way to check this is to remove the casing, which is annoying
