Joker's album came no where close to Glass Swords. Author and Silkie are both right up there with Rustie, but Jokers album was just too inconsistent to come near Glass Swords. Yeah, there were some great moments (The Slaughter, Back in the Days), but as a whole, it wasn't near as good as any of the other artists you listed. (except for Submotion, I haven't listened to them)Maccaveli wrote:Nah mate, Author, Joker, Submotion Orchestra and Silkie all topped Rustie imoJizzMan wrote:cant beat this yo, best electronic album of 2011 hands down:

One person makes music and its classed as brostep, another person makes music and its not classed as brostep even though it sounds almost identical.

gotta agree with Scope, Joker's album was quite disappointing, especially cos I'm such a big fan of his work... Author and Silkie and especially Submotion's albums were great, but Glass Swords blew my mind when I heard it haha, so colourful and differentSCope13 wrote:Joker's album came no where close to Glass Swords. All Nite is not the best one imo though, I can see why people would say its brosteppy; the difference is quite simply that All Nite doesnt "drop like a b0:55" to a million different resampled midbasses randomly playing one after the other, the tune does have melody

Re: Brostep - Part Deux!
lots (if not most) of new brostep has melody, which is why the explode in popularity, just play through UKF and you'll see. Maybe not that complex but still heaps more than "dungeon" or "tearout".

To me that track IS brostep, people just wunna say its different because its rustie... that being said, I still like the track and the album reguardless of what it is; its not rusties best tho IMO.
