Yep, for tax reasons I'm not getting my bonus paid into the Spanish account (as most of it was accrued whilst still employed in the UK)...and as my UK bank doesn't have online banking enabled for security reasons, I'm not going to get access to it until next time I have the chance to pop into my local Basingstoke branch of Barclays and arrange for a transfer.

Am I missing something or are you saying Barclays doesn't have online banking?

Meant my bank account...Barclays has the option but I've never taken it up.

Yeah, I never liked the idea for some reason when I was younger and then as I got older just never got around to it. On the plus side, I've now got a few wedge in a UK account that I can't get access to without a considerable amount of effort on my part

Do you not even have the card for the barkleys account Wub? Surely you can just withdraw it?

Im pretty sure almost all ATMs in Madrid are chip and pin so it won't get declined for unusual spend or anything...

some banks require you to only use their branches to withdraw money from, depends on the type of account you have

you could always send the card to someone you trust back home and have them withdraw it

I'm with Barclays in Madrid, and yes my card does work over here. However I get skanked on the exchange rates withdrawing from a UK account via a Spanish ATM, and I have to pay commission even though it's my bank

I thought about this, but it's not the sort of amount you can withdraw from an ATM in one swoop, and a branch withdrawal would be out of the question.

Banks in Spain skank you something chronic...other day I got charged 3€ fee on a 10€ withdrawal as it was the only ATM around...and that's a straight Spanish-Spanish bank interchange, not fucking impressed.

It's not a practical figure to withdraw from an ATM.

Went to fill up at the gas today and the little lock that keeps the handle down was broken so I had to hold it the entire time
