Re: New Joy O
The vocal sample in this is really catchy. Really not to sure on that bass though, sounds pretty cheap. I guess everyone will be into it because its Joy.
Re: New Joy O

I don't really give a fuck about the hype, I might play this in two years' time
maybe
just maybe,
this might make up for that sicko cell shit

Re: New Joy O
bit more on the functional side of things
than I'd like
less emotive than his earlier work
this one is still incredible
a bit euphoric and cheesy,
but what's wrong with that?

His new mix on RA is fantastic: http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast- ... spx?id=331
Killing it...
Ya'll need to calm down a bit with your YouTube aggro rip madness.

Yeah his earlier work had a bit more depth to it. The stuff he has done with boddika was really strong, although they are more on boddika vibe.Helix [Delay] wrote:bit more on the functional side of things

This is really disappointing from such a big name.

The first 2 Sunklo records were ace but I'm not a massive fan of Sunklofree, was just a bit too..Helix [Delay] wrote:the work with boddika was not to my liking.

Re: New Joy O
i was kind of disappointed with sunklofree when i first got it cos it was such an effort to get a copy. probably one of my most played records now the initial hype's died down, i love it

Really?
His new tracks are wicked, very different to the heavily sample-led tracks true, but good none-the-less.
Re: New Joy O
What?
This is like the best from him in ages.
All the Boddika collabs are pretty meh.
This is cool and pretty fun even. Vocal is really good and the beat is just enough off-kilter with the drums and WOMP being slightly off.

Re: New Joy O
People far too often associate using a R&B vocal as being "emotional" or "soulful". I like his old tunes and I like his new tunes, but just because he isn't using a pad and an Usher acapella doesn't mean he is phoning it in in the studio.
Re: New Joy O
+1 on that.
It's not too hard to make a track more "emotive" by just slapping some clichéd pitched down 90's R&B vocal on top of your beat.
