Never really had much call for a Dimension Expander, personally.

Although I'd recommend (for the purposes of this) something like Sumo (as a freeware Sausage Fattener) if I was going to go down that route...exciter/dimension expander rolled together with more versatility.

In the dynamics department you'll be more than set with DC1A, Molot, LimiterNo6 and VOS' stuff

That one is included in "VOS' stuff", didn't feel like naming them separately :)

another that hardly gets mentioned, Fromage from Ohmforce.
my favourite plugin for sound design, i use it on every reese and its able to make a lot of organic watery textures if tweaked/automated right.
not a needed effect but for serious people who want to sound different its very versatile.

I tried Frohmage a couple years back but just moved on as it was very harsh to me.
Maybe I didn't delve into it enough.

ah right, i usually automate Frohmage a lot which it seems to bring out the magic, its good for abstract sound design rather than something for common use.
i suggested it because of how unique i think it is :D

Well I'm really not into stock sounds and always experiment heavily.
I guess I just never used it at the right point or for the right effect.

yeah it happens, like i once thought psp vintage warmer sounded awful because i tried using it in the wrong situation  but its awesome.
also guys zebralette, been mentioned but id recommend anyone to put time into using it since it sounds so good + easy to use.
can literally use that one synth your whole life lol, for a free version of zerba2 it sounds just as good IMO.

I agree with zebralette.
The morphing and editable waveform makes it so worth while.
And it sounds very lush for what it is.

PSP VU meter

Sonalksis Free G

Voxengo Span

All worth mentioning for a free studio.

Good call on that version of Samplitude, I didn't know about it. You reminded me that I actually had Silver on a disc with my MIDI keyboard.

I'm going to suggest the GVST pack as well, because it has the GTune chromatic tuner, GSnap (autotune), and offers multiband m/s control with GMulti. The rest of the effects are fairly generic?

Updated.

NINJA EDIT: I decided on Sync Modular as the language, because the language and environment are easier to program with and it is easier to run as a plugin than Pure Data.
