you need to leave feedback bro. anyway your tune, kick and snare are lovely. When it builds at like 1.10 it feels a little muddy and the bass on the drop could use a touch of EQ just as its a bit meaty in the middle. Really good tho.

The drop is weird, the baseline needs to dominate a lot more as at the moment it feels like a kind of throw away part of the track.

@Burgeamon: Sick drums, bass/mid range at the drop needs a little more - maybe some wide verb? The intro sample is nice, well arranged how it drops on "vampire". I like how it progresses with the lasery mid section. Not much to critise, great work - your tracks are getting to be awsm.
@Klesherdubs: No probs man, just keep mixing and mixing - practice is the key (I've been at it a year and stll suck haha). As for your wobbles and stuff - it's down to you man, no point me telling you how to make a track, it's all about your personal style - do whatever
@dequo: Please give 3 people feedback... however nice track, good drums & perc. Nice bass/mids at the drop, just needs a bit more structure and clean up the muddiness of the bass
@SMOR3S: Nice ideas, heard this through a few variations. Imo the bells get a bit repetitive although they're nice. Also when she says "this" shouldn there be like a wub of bass there or something? The glitching at the drop is cool as are the panned "ah's". Just needs some work on the mix and maybe toning down the harshness of the basses.



So here's a new track I'm working on, the drums are placeholders and it's mainly just the intro. Oh and it's unmixed haha... just looking for tips on structuring and if people like the idea. The bit at the end is a growl I'm trying to make say "dance for me".

Yeah man, the intro is nice.. At the very beginning the screeching riser that starts it off kinda blows out the ear.. But the drums kick in and follow a nice groove.. I understand nothing is mastered so it's no point mention what you already know.. And surprisingly the intro doesn't seem long.. Even at It being 1:30 .. Atleast not to me.. The vocals fit well over the track.. Has a nice dark but melodic vibe.. Perfect for that Halloween sound your going with.. All in all the structure is well thought out and produced.. Can't wait to hear what you come up with.. Send it my way when your done !

Smor3s, the mixdown is pretty untight imo. The build up sounds really stiff with the kick, get some humanizing on the velocity maybe and definately automate some kind of filter. You really need to check the levels, the drop comes in a lot quieter than it should be, it's underwhelming. Also, the screech sounds muddy and doesn't have the high end it needs to really tear at you. Get some EQ:ing on the pluck/arpeggio thingy, it kinda swamps the mix, and bring up that screech. Cool sound designs otherwise but the mixing is shite, sorry lol. Also the intro sounds empty, get some ambience, sweeps, pads or hatloops or something.

Spectrafunk, I love the intro with the organ or whatever, the sampling is really nice too, sounds awesome. But, I fucking hate the Sweet Dreams riff. Not to take a piss on you but I can't stand that song, I'd definately take it out if I were you. I also posted a bit about that growl for you in the growl thread btw, good luck man!

Burgeamon, I love it. Vocals are awesome, beat is awesome, snare sounds killer. Sampling is great and the drop is so fresh. Although, some movement in the low end of the bass would be nice imo. Layer it with a reese and sweep around in the EQ or something would be cool I think. Such a good track though, puts a huge grin on my face. The melody in the 2nd section of the drop kinda ruins the feeling though, not that's its bad but it doesn't really go with the swag in the other parts if you get me, it's such a different style. Something for a different song maybe, I dunno?

Sorry that I came off like a fucking bitch here, just wanted to give some feedback for stuff that's gonna take the tunes further you know, don't mean to be a dick haha. Great tracks guys.


So, here's mine. I'm looking to get this sucker released commercially so I just need some new ears on it. The mastering is really fucking quick and I'll get back to that. If you think it's horrible I might send it off to a real mastering house, I dunno. Things I'm looking for feedback in particular is if you feel that song has like a proper hook. Often when I make EDM I feel that my tracks are generic and unmemorable, like there's nothing human to hold on to if you know what I mean, they're forgettable. So I wanna know if it sticks or if it just feels like a bunch of sounds thrown together. Also in general, composition, mixdown etc, anything you can think of. Okay, go!

Ah yeah, I know I came off a bit harsh but was meant to be helpful really, sorry lol. It's not that bad for early on in the production, IMO you should wait with the mixdown til the entire track is finished anyway or you'll lose your flow so no rush. Thanks for the kind words btw. Good luck on the track mate!

Feedback:
@Maxxan: Intro is killer, so catchy. Stereo's good, mix sounds nice. Vox maybe a tad loud? Drop is a bit unexpected bit hits hard, I like the extended squeely bit. Nice work on the basses, although in parts they cloud the drums, perhaps sidechain the drums to dip an EQ on the mids/basses? Not much else to critique, great work man!
@TheOfficialWikyd: A little odd, but I like it. Definitely need to work on the mix, the drums get drowned at the drop. Try eqing some mids/bass back too.
@SMOR3S: Waiting on your upload.
@niteshifts: Kinda deep in style, got some good ideas, I like the choir in Fable. Your reeses sound cool but the high end lead is a bit lame, try and fatten up the reeses and really get the drums punching. Although atm the mix sounds good - just needs boosting. The Return is nice too, drums are great. Keep at it, and just try and get some more beef in your sounds. But otherwise the tracks are on point.

@Maxxan, thanks for the advice - really helpful but I still can't get my growl talking right so it's cut for the moment, gonna work on it for the second drop perhaps. Also the only reason I used the Sweet Dreams hook is the track is themed around Sucker Punch and I liked the version of Sweet Dreams in the film, although the piano & violin I've done bit is original.
@niteshift I wans't going for upbeat but if you think it is... oh well

@spectrafunk-love the bass at the drop man, but it needs to be sidechained compressed to bring out the kick and snare because that beat will really drive the song and give the bass even more movement. good work though

@deathbybadger-diggin it man, but yeah, needs to be mixed down a bit. bring those kicks and snares out and this track will be fucking beast.

@wikyd-sick track man! again though, the drums are a bit low in the mix, sidechain compress them bitches and make em thunder!

@burgaemon-sounds a bit like koan, you need alot more sub, the track as a whole is empty. add some distortion to that bass and fill up them frequencies at the bottom.

@burgeamon - the bottom end on your bass group feels a little thin right now. pretty cool track, has alot of energy.

@mrthrfnk - sweet dreams? sounding pretty cool man, lots of tension in the build up. that growl is almost there, pretty cool idea man. - drop addition sounds pretty cool, i would carry that pattern to much though, try using the same notes just variate the rhythm some an bounce it around.

@maxxon - that break down in the middle i think you should use more of. nice synth contrast overall.

@niteshifts - sounding cool man, those reeses have a good top end atmosphere, i feel like they could use more bottom end though. also a deeper kick. a damn good start though. of the two 'the return' is the heavier one. very nice work. just needs some polishing.

@theofficialwikyd - synths are very distorted. try some mid scoops. overall seems harsh on the top end.

@klesherdubs - verb feels very heavy. top end is a bit harsh also.

@crowsteppa - that distorted vocal part is pretty cool man.

posted this a bit back, tried some of the mix suggestions an made a second drop.. still very empty in areas though, but it seems to be coming along.

@crow steppa i like the snare. feel the vocal cutting maybe some more changes inbetween. would love if the vocals go done when it drops like the small?! vocal 5 semitones down feel the filthy bass sound but dont know about the loud outside vocals and the stab melody line. maybe just a more darker melody and the outside vocals a bit more quiet

@klesherdub definitly not chill haha hm yeah maybe some more midlows and tiny bit less highend but the wet wobbles definitly are promising

@mthrfnk like the build up haha is it suckerpunch or is it tainted love or sth i know that melody. i like the piano bits in it maybe bring the reece abit more in the front and a higher clap on top hm but definitly nice start. you could play around with some hipass or bandpass when the reece opens up in the hihat less parts

@maxxan normaly not a big fan of brostep but fucking hell i love that vocoder haha if i could choose you should just play that vocoder part all the time. hm hard hitting mix anyways dunno dont like screeches so it could do without them but i like the dub stab melody. maybe make even less elements at parts but again i cant tell what people might like

I EQ'd and re-mixed down the track a lot... Took off pretty much, all of the unnecessary frequencies.. Let me know how that modulation sound @ 0:54.. Does it stick out to bad?

@klesherdubs: indeed there is nothing chill about that. I don't like the hiss in the 'wob' stuff, and missing a lot of sub. I do like the use of the reverb, gives it a big roomly feeling.

@mthrfnk:the melody line of the beginning reminds me a lot of song but can't figure out which one it is. feels a bit like 'sweet dreams' but it's not that. dunno. I find the snare/kick rythm a bit boring too simple. the part after the drop is really well done. the snare/kick is still a bit boring. like the piano in there.

@maxxan: i'm not feeling the synth at 1.20+ till 1.38 doesn't really flows with the song, the talking bass is really nice after that. I like the reggae guitar of the song and it sounds well produced. can't really say a lot else about it. (this is for your second song)

@TheOfficialWikyd: sorry but i'm really not feeling this, it's really generic and just not intresting to listen to at all.

@burgeamon: damn that's funky. I feel the snare can be made a bit more intresting, a bit more snappy. love the little sounds in it. it's lacking in bass tho. all in all a nice song.

@smor3s: love the water drips in the beginning. the snare is boring. give it a bit of tail/reverb and a bit more body to it. the melody is really nice. yeah that modulated sounds stands out a lot and is feeling totally random in the build it. it's better after the drop, but i'm not feeling it in this song. it removes a lot of the eerie build up in the beginning. yeah i'm not feeling it at all. I like the small vocal samples you put in there. not liking the clap on your kick sounds too processed. try to give a lil bit of swing to your high hats. all in all i'm feeling the intro/bridge i'm not feeling the main modulation stuff. it just removes so much of the vibes of the song.

@reversed: like all of the instruments you use/ violin/piano etc. but the intro feels more like all the sounds have been thrown on a big pile. they don't feel like 1 intro it all feels a bit random. do let us hear more when u worked a bit more on it.

@jimbeaux: loving the piano, loving all the small percussion sounds. not a big fan of the wobble sound you use. you could use a bit of drone to make it feel less empty or put in some more percussions sounds. maybe use some more of that violin you're already using.
