Why is there a HOUSE board on a DUBSTEP forum?
Re: Why is there a HOUSE board on a DUBSTEP forum?
because a lot of the original dubstep heads are now pushing (a certain kind of) house and related styles

Re: Why is there a HOUSE board on a DUBSTEP forum?
Because House is the root of most dance music, including Dubstep. But now much Dubstep has become a formulaic cliche of itself yet many producers of Dubstep are evolving the genre into something else that sounds a lot like House music. I would think it would be easier to add a sub-forum for this evolving sound instead of starting an entirely new separate forum. You recently joined this forum so you may be new to Dubstep. If you were here from the inception of this forum and followed Dubstep since it began in the early 2000's, you would have a better understanding of why there is a HOUSE sub-forum.

For me Dubstep is boring, that's the reason Ive never been in the Dubstep part of this forum, because I have very little to zero interest in the genre.
But id certainly never go over there and say anything derogatory about a scene I know nothing about.
At my age you want more than zoops, zapps, wubs and distorted snares.

Not really mate, not that I ''haven't liked it'' as such, I fell out at the transition, when garage started becoming really bass-led; El-B, Zed Bias, Zinc etc I was really pretty much fully fledged house guy by that point (99-2000), so aside from the Digital Mystikz stuff Id hear on Peel or Peterson that's as far as it went for me.
Also at this time I was really into digging. Funk, soul, Disco, Dub reggae et al, was, along with house, where the majority of my vinyl expenditure was going toward.

mr. grown up: you defintly have no clue about dubstep (fair enough - you admitted).groucho_marxx wrote: At my age you want more than zoops, zapps, wubs and distorted snares.
find the zoops, zapps, wubs and the distorted snares:
i'm also very happy to be able to actually love both, house music and dubstep. and being open minded enough to produce both and whatever is inbetween.
although i'm not your age...
