You are a tech metal player and yet you make songs that are hardly dubstep and underproduced with no feeling. Learn from Lysergene and Distance, man.

Now waiting for the merge.
I find it interesting how many people here hate on brostep. I checked out those guys you suggest and you know what? I found their music boring. Good quality but nothing going on in the midrange. It makes it sound like a large portion ofte song is missing. If you have recorded any bands like you said you would surely realise this. But hey, that's my opinion. If Itold you go listen to Protest the Hero and Periphery you would tell me my taste in music is terrible.

And I've had less than a year producing electronic music and I've got 98% positive feedback from anyone that listens to my music. I don't give a shit what you think ofthe song in my sig.

I'm not pretending I'm trolling, it's a joke. Lighten the fuck up.

Fuck I'm sick of this shit.

dubstep is not meant for headphones, it definitely shouldn't feel complete in a weak system and you definitely shouldn't be sacrificing lower frequencies for more midrange presence in the mix (big ups zomboy). recording and producing acoustic music is a whole different world and even though, I doubt that most dub and reggae music feels full and yet is a beautiful genre of music. Like LSP always said, it's all about the drums and the bass. If you got weight and groove, everything else is a luxury.

See guys? A good example of a good argument right there. Cudos.

Coming from the metal scene, I prefer the heavier style of dubstep since it embodies most of that particular feeling. Mix that with with epic melodies (I mean literally emotionally epic, not epic reffering to good) and you've got an awesome song. Kill the noise pt 1, scary monsters, Hoedown (zomboy) and San Diego (skrill) are some of my favourites. Hate on me all you like, but that's the kind of music I enjoy listening to, and I'm not gonna listen to stuff I don't like just because it's 'true' dubstep. I like to listen to dubstep when I don't have access to a good sound system like the one I have at home. With the genre becoming more popular artists are accounting for this. There are still artists making dub that is made for sub enabled systems, so I don't see the point in anyone giving shit to brostep.

Just for the record, I was listening to those examples through both my monitors and bass quad (450 watt ampeg head) so yeah that thing is like 4 subs in one cabinet.

and yet you disregard a legit TMSV post on the matter. Also Dub is not Dubstep. If art has to bend over to popular demand, it's most likely that it will turn to shit and lose the connection with its roots.

I'm at the point where I'm not sure if that's supposed to be sarcastic or not. Seems to enthusiastic. My apologies if you're being legit.

Can you feel their dicks, fucking your mind?

Seriously, these last two pages are everything that's wrong with this forum. The guy just said he liked a jokes remix of a zelda song (I like it too just because it's the lost woods melody which is epic, if you don't agree then you are wrong and fuck you, zelda4lief), and suddenly he's hunted like Bin Ladin in the fucking caves man. No one is claiming that zeldastep is a real thing or that ephixa makes real deep dubstep. And even if they were, just, god damn, chill. Think of your fucking blood pressure guys, haha, damn.

And sure_fire, just roll with the punches man. Don't try to make sense of it, you don't wanna go down that rabbit hole lol.

Most sensible thing anyone has written on this thread.

Anyway, someone should open a thread dedicated to FL studio tips and tricks that might help when making dubstep/electro house/DnB etc. I can imagine a lot pf people would find it quite useful.

We have a similiar thread, it's called FL Studio Q&A or something like that. Not too much action in it these days though.

I for myself can't really see the limitations of FL as opposed to other daw:s when it comes to dubstep. Yeah, sure, native plugins aren't that powerful (Sytrus aside, total monster but I have FM8) but everyone has 3rd party plugins anyway. Granted, I'm used to the FL workflow, only have a little experience with Ableton Live and Maschine apart from that but I have yet to find something I can't do/is extremely cumbersome in FL.
