@magma how long do you think there is betwee natural stoppages, we have people in boxes with telly's with a view of what's going on they can review in game and tell the ref he missed one. It's not hard other sports have introduced review systems and the argument that football doesn't have the same natural stoppages doesn't hold.

We have a situation where a ref even i he missed one gets to review it and decide whether he fucked up which is how Webb came to agree with his earlier position that no offence had been comitted by RvP. Give Suarez the yellow for diving retrospectively if you want but I'd rather he get it in game. What use is it to a team that's already lost that a player be banned for games, it doesn't impact the match where the offence happened.

You'll never make football a perfectly fair game... you'll never make rugby a perfectly fair game either, but for some reason, rugby players don't act like spoilt children when a decision doesn't go their way... even if they've just had studs raked down their face by an overzealous hooker or conceded a try from a missed forward pass. They only use video replays for try decisions (other decisions can be reviewed post-match like with football), but it doesn't seem to result in players having tantrums, fans throwing things at referees... you know... perhaps... just perhaps football's phenomenally childish and self-entitled culture is what's at fault here.

It's deemed a matter of personal respect to not act like a spoilt toddler on the rugby pitch. Perhaps we should encourage the same approach for our footballers?

We should absolutely and I'd be happy for it to be gone but there's an incentive to cheat and there's very little comeback, if you want to eradicate it penalise it and do it properly but fairly.

I don't think the self entitled culture arpuond football has anything to do with referees are shit at their job or not. Webb reviewed the RvP incident and decided it was sound.

mid game reviewing is a bad idea imo [edit: Although I obviously agree with goalline technology]. where would this stop? you could have 30 things per game that could be potentially viewed...the flow of the game is what makes it the best sport in the world.

I honestly think that if player knew their actions during the field of play are definitely going to be severely punished, whether the ref sees it or not, would stamp it out rather quickly.

you cannot compare simulating to win a penalty, to claiming the ball came off the other guy for a throw in...that's a bit of a stretch.

The reviewing can go on while the games in progress though and you have a certain number of offences / situations that can be reviewed. It doesn't need to impact the game at all. It's been generally opposed in all sports but seems to have caught on.

The simulation v throw in was merely to point out that cheating doesn't have to be the really obvious stuff. I still remember the Henchoz handball in the Arsenal FA cup and the Hand of God goal for Maradonna along with the Henry handball in the qualifer against the Irish these things are really really easy to spot.

If you are going to punish people after then do it, don't bottle it and don't say the ref saw it so it can't be reviewed. Suarez should be getting a yellow for the dive Huth at least a yellow for the stamp, Tiote and RvP yellows at least do it and do it properly.

I wasn't there but i went to the match the weekend before in the hull city end and there were running battles in the concourse/ loads of anti s yorkshire police chants etc. Things like that tend to bring the twats out in force.
