Exactly what I'd been worrying about from the Dre hookup, tbh... old sounding "classic" beat, none of the and show-off lyrics. Kendrick's still got a great flow on it, but the lyrics are thin as shit. Dre sounds odd, too...

No.
so overproduced, and yeah dre sounds weird as hell

Seems like a good guy, but the run-on sentence flow things is really annoying to me. I played Section 80 a lot over the summer, there's a few tracks I come back to. But yeah, his overly left-of-center flow doesn't come off genuine at all. Still, that's just nitpicking to an extent. I prefer Schoolboy Q's delivery and content.

Edit: Forgot to point out TDE is not signed to Aftermath (they are to Interscope), only Kendrick.
hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the john..so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz?

Shops tomorrow (or possibly Thursday) I think. I've got mine pre-ordered to arrive on release day from Amazon...

Definitely check Section 80... renewed my faith in Compton rappers, that whole Black Hippy thing is full of some serious talent.

Check out Ab-Soul, Jay-Rock and Schoolboy Q too... definitely Ab-Soul, I think he might be even better than Kendrick.

The girl that sings most of their choruses and incidentals died the other week... posted it a few threads down. Lame.

Nnnggff... J.U.S.T.I.C.E League quality production and real-as-fuck poetics over the top. THIS TUNE IS SO DAMN NECESSARY.

Picked up the cd today, only listened to the first half so far, but I'm definitely feeling it!

good kid, m.A.A.d. city is fucking AMAZING. God damn.

Probably the best concept/story album I've ever heard from an MC. All the tracks sound great individually but when you listen to it start to finish it's basically Boyz N The Hood: The Musical

I liked Recipe...

(Scoop DeVille produced it, btw - and if you've heard the
original (and liked it,) you'd dig the beat.)

Yeah I think The Recipe's dope as hell, I don't know what people's problem is with it. I had the chorus stuck in my head for half of today.
