so overproduced, and yeah dre sounds weird as hellmagma wrote:Exactly what I'd been worrying about from the Dre hookup, tbh... old sounding "classic" beat, none of the and show-off lyrics. Kendrick's still got a great flow on it, but the lyrics are thin as shit. Dre sounds odd, too...say_whut wrote:What do you lot make of Recipe? Re: KENDRICK LAMAR
Seems like a good guy, but the run-on sentence flow things is really annoying to me. I played Section 80 a lot over the summer, there's a few tracks I come back to. But yeah, his overly left-of-center flow doesn't come off genuine at all. Still, that's just nitpicking to an extent. I prefer Schoolboy Q's delivery and content.
Edit: Forgot to point out TDE is not signed to Aftermath (they are to Interscope), only Kendrick.

Check out Ab-Soul, Jay-Rock and Schoolboy Q too... definitely Ab-Soul, I think he might be even better than Kendrick.
The girl that sings most of their choruses and incidentals died the other week... posted it a few threads down. Lame.
Nnnggff... J.U.S.T.I.C.E League quality production and real-as-fuck poetics over the top. THIS TUNE IS SO DAMN NECESSARY.

good kid, m.A.A.d. city is fucking AMAZING. God damn.
Probably the best concept/story album I've ever heard from an MC. All the tracks sound great individually but when you listen to it start to finish it's basically Boyz N The Hood: The Musical

I liked Recipe...
(Scoop DeVille produced it, btw - and if you've heard the
original (and liked it,) you'd dig the beat.)

Yeah I think The Recipe's dope as hell, I don't know what people's problem is with it. I had the chorus stuck in my head for half of today.
