i can't make an educated vote so i'm just going to base everything i know about the candidates or candidate from this very thread. could someone create a detailed list of pros 'n cons for romney and obama? i am ignorant. i am eligible and from what I hear from a lot of kids , ron paul is the way 'forward' but i know he isn't an option anymore correct?

my prior aggression? what? that was 0 '10 (if you're talking about that thread w/ evolution which was my one and only post mentioning sexual preference. every other term i've used , which haven't been many, were all derogatory ) and I don't have any aggression towards homosexual men. don't do this to me nowaysj. and coupled w/ my taste? what is that supposed to mean honestly though, what IS that supposed to mean. and how do they correlate. i'm confused. my taste has broadened throughout the years. this post may appear ironic .

fiscal policy:
romney's policies wouldn't help anyone but the 1%, and they're the same exact policies from the bush administration that got the US economy into this mess (like, literally. his "five point plan" is the same as the one bush and mccain touted). he wants a 5 trillion dollar tax cut, and then he wants to add 2 trillion to defense spending (which the pentagon says it doesnt even want or need), and thinks he's going to close that deficit by cutting a few "loopholes and deductions."

obama has a solid record to run on. the recession would have been way worse without the steps he took, and just looking at the employment numbers, the country is back to where it was previously. recoveries from recessions are slow, but the economy is projected to keep improving (and do so faster). most credible economists support this. "obamacare" is definitely an improvement, although i still think a single payer, universal healthcare system would be superior. but it's basically romney's healthcare plan from massachusetts anyways

foreign policy:
i think obama has handled it well, and although i'm undecided on drone strikes, romney agrees with that anyways so it's not like there's a choice anyways.

in fact, romney said he agreed with literally everything obama said at the 3rd debate on foreign policy... as if romney ever meant anything he's said though

social policy:
i don't think i have to tell you how crazy the republicans are when it comes to women's rights after all the media buzz about akin, murdock, etc, but the romney/ryan ticket would repeal roe v wade and supports a constitutional amendment that would establish "life at conception" and by doing so would basically try to endow a fertilized egg with the rights of the 14th amendment. this would make abortions and most forms of birth control illegal, not to mention all the absurd legal implications that would arise. they'd also do just about everything they could to stop gays from getting married, he said this recently, "Some gays are actually having children born to them. It's not right on paper. It's not right in fact."

not all that much to say, obama repealed don't ask don't tell and isn't trying to strip women of their rights



when it comes down to their character as a person, it's a pretty clear choice as well. romney doesn't stand up for what he believes in, he's willing to say whatever he thinks he needs to say to get elected. his stated policies and positions literally change over the span of a few hours. when doors are closed and he's surrounded by "his people" (read: rich people), he accuses the 47% of the country who doesn't pay income tax of being lazy, hand-out grabbers. the best part is, this 47% number is "the percentage of americans not represented on a tax return", not "the percentage of workers/adults not represented on a tax return." that means this number includes children, the elderly, military earning combat pay, etc.

Said it before, say it again, I spent 3 hours in the er at the start of this year. Blood test, lay in bed, and a ctscan: $12k. That's $4k an hour, saw a doctor for a total of 5 minutes, nurse for under 10 minutes.

Yea ER visits are insane, I had an allergic reaction to a med the VA prescribed to me which caused my muscles to completely lock up in my legs and it was starting to get to my arms.
I happened to be walking home from the store when this happened so wasn't completely home and had to call an ambulance because I couldn't physically move and had no clue what was going on.
A trip to the ER at the nearest hospital away (maybe 3-4 miles at most) and a shot of benadryl and I was better, but here's the kicker my meds are for anxiety/PTSD.
So I explain to the doctor in the 5 minutes that I see him, I've undergone detox before for benzos (xanax in this case) and what does he hand me a prescription for until I can see my doctor at the VA? Xanax.
The bill for the ER service was outrageous (a few grand I think for essentially a shot of over the counter allergy medicine), and thankfully the VA covered it, but they wouldn't cover the ambulance ride which is still after me in debt collection I think for about $1500 (for a glorified taxi ride).
The costs are outrageous and can bankrupt you if you're uninsured.

Your country really needs to do something to address this stigma around 'socialism'. A national health service should be standard in any country that regards itself as first world.

Here's the thing as a vet I do have socialized healthcare in the form of the VA and my benefits, but apparently it becomes evil socialism when the general public gets the same treatment.
