Felt the kick/snare pattern was a bit too constant for a glitch hop track?

Cheers Wub. I'm going to work on some variations of the drum patterns. When I've been working on this track I was more focusing on the synths and general arrangement of the track, so probably didn't pay enough attention to the drum patterns. I think where I go wrong is I make a few decent sounding drum patterns, copy and past them out to the length I want the track to be, then get working on the basslines and synths, and kind of leaving the drums as they are.

Apart from the kick/snare pattern (which I'm going to work on), what were your thoughts on the general feel of the track, i.e. bass', synths, mastering of the drums etc, arrangements of the basslines etc.

Cheers mate!

The interplay between some of the bass patches and the guitars I quite liked, got a call and response thing going on there which I was vibing. Arrangement on the basslines at times was a bit pedestrian, that is to say not as glitchy as I would expect?

Maybe I shouldn't have called it a 'glitch hop' track, but just a 110bpm track... :? lol. I'm gonna work on the tune some more tonight and try glitch that sh*t up! Maybe shorten some of the bass/synth notes down a bit, with some arped/gated sounds chopped inbetween?? You reckon that would make it more 'glitchy'?

Cheers mate, I've been working on trying to get my mixdown tighter lately, kinda getting there - compared to my older tracks it's improved a hell of a lot IMO.

I'm thinking about fuc*ing off the remix comp, doing away with the vocals and just use some 'vocal stabs' on the odd off-beat - Koan sound seem to do this in their glitch hop tunes - might make it sound more 'glitchy'

What do you think of the actual bass sounds themselves. Any good? I've been working on my sound design a lot more lately. Any decent distortion units to recommend to make them more 'gritty'?

Cheers again! :Q:
