Dublime returns this autumn, bringing Lee Scratch Perry, dEbruit, Channel One Sound System and more for a night of roots, reggae, and all things dub...
Dublime is back on Friday November 2nd, coming to Electric Brixton for a night of pure dub eclecticism. With a live set from dub legend Lee Scratch Perry and renowned musician dEbruit, as well as sets from Mikey Dread and Jah T’s Channel One Sound System, plus support from Rootsteady and Jonny Trunk, Dublime Presents... will be a celebration of dub, in all its forms.
Lee Scratch Perry performs alongside a live band. Promising a warm, bouncing set that cuts to the very core of dub culture. He’s a reggae pioneer – considered the godfather of dub, and a true advocate for expression and equality in music. Joining Lee Scratch Perry is celebrated musician dEbruit whose love of African rhythms and funk combine with his love of dub to create a dancefloor-friendly sound. He plays live, promising a rock-solid and confident set.
South London’s world-renowned Channel One Sound System also joins the Dublime party; Notting Hill Carnival veterans Mikey Dread and Jah T have played a major role in the spread of dub music throughout London, and their set will have the whole venue moving.
Support comes from Jonny Trunk of Trunk Records who has one of the largest library music record collections in the UK, and reggae selector Rootsteady, so expect a thorough exploration of dub, reggae and electronic music.

Dublime first appeared at Fabric in 2004 as the first night to incorporate all mutations of the dub music genre. Using Lee Scratch Perry as the foundation of the night, promoter Hyponik programmed techno, jungle, reggae and dubstep around him, resulting in a sold-out event attended by people from many different walks of life. And now Dublime is back – this time coming to Brixton.
"Hyponik is delighted to be bringing back Dublime,” says Hyponik’s Matt V. “Especially coming to Brixton, which has seen many forms of dub over the years progress and evolve. We’re delighted to have the founder of dub music himself, Lee Scratch Perry.”
A stunning venue with a strong music history, Electric Brixton has had a big year since its relaunch and opening in September 2011. Having hosted events including Carl Cox: The Revolution, Cocoon Heroes and the South West Four after party, this stunning venue is a prime spot for Dublime, sure to showcase the D&B J Series sound system to thrilling effect.
Matt V continues: “The Electric Brixton provides the perfect auditorium for such a night and we hope to continue with the concept throughout 2013.”
Dublime presents a journey through music – a masterclass in dub, and a lesson in the history of bass culture and the future of electronic music. Come join the party!
