Everyone should just exit this bullshit argument then download a Linux distro and start putting pressure on developers and the WINE crew to improve music making software for that platform.

This thread is on par with Xbox vs Playstation arguments...both are good but we'd all be better off if devs and consumers put their money in to PC/Mac/Linux gaming and PC/Mac/Linux-based consoles. Same with PC vs Mac music production. If everything was cross-platform this thread wouldn't even need to exist. Fuck the greedy patent owners and greedy software/hardware companies.

Windows fanboys can fuck right off, people always seems to think the only reason to have a mac is to be stuck up and snobbish, which is absolutely ridiculous. And some windows users will stop at nothing to shove down your throat how PC is truly better in the end. Maybe they are for some, but they do get viruses and develop downs after about a year. Most people that refute this are absolute computer maniacs, sure they can prevent these things from happening, I just want to make music.

Yes, it does look nicer, I can stare at this macbook screen and UI for much longer than I could windows, dunno why, just looks nicer; feels better to look at. I'd say that's a plus. I've been using PC's for... since I was probably 5 years old, and I'm now 18 and switched to Mac in the last 6 months, best decision I've ever made.

Nobody is knocking a Mac - you're just too stupid/ignorant to realise that. The simple fact is that PC's are not fundamentally flawed - 99.9% of errors are due to the user. Usually clicking on a dodgy link, torrenting stuff from dodgy sites, generally being stupid. A poor worksman blames his tools - this seems to be the case here.

I don't even run an antivirus, this is because i know how to not be stupid. I wouldn't consider myself a 'computer maniac' as you'd suggest, i merely like to have a fast efficient reliable machine.

Yet you do exactly the same thing. It would have been a better argument if you'd just said that you bought a Mac as you like them, instead of spouting the same old crap about PC's breaking themselves. Blaming inanimate objects for things that was your fault is a mild form of insanity - a wise person accepts control for their own life. I actually do a virus scan every month, but i don't run any real time protection. Real time protection sits in the memory and eats cpu cycles, scans each and every file/link that you click on. I find this intrusive and unnecessary, a simple scan every few weeks works for me. I scan for rootkits, adware, viruses etc and always come up with nothing.

I also update the hosts file, so that all advert sites are blocked - this also speeds up my internet browsing, as i'm not downloading shitty adverts every time i open a page. Everyone should do this imo - using my friends Mac on Youtube yesterday and for some reason it has adverts each time i play a video - my PC doesn't have that. Conclusion - the experience heavily depends on the users ability as much as the platform they are using.

Nobody cares about the same old arguments, if you want a mac, get one. Nobody is telling you use one.

Not better, just different, but i think for the average computer user it's a whole lot more user friendly and requires less maintenance. If you can keep your PC organized, clean, and running smoothly for a prolonged period of time, kudos to you and congrats on saving a boatload of money.

That's fair enough, yet I don't think I've ever seen a scan not come back with anything unless you never downloaded or cracked a thing then I suppose I could believe you.

Most people don't even know about the host file so that whole experience you base your conclusion on is not a great example.. Overall I find macbook pro is a great (overpriced) solid machine both hardware and software which is very user friendly and easy to use (Although most windows users and pc guys who come around in the mac topics/discussions seem to find that if you own a PC you should know it inside out.. this is not reality) .. Above all this I use my windows machine a lot more
