@ El-FX - I feel you man, I've really been beating myself up over it for the last 4 days lol. I know in life you can't please everyone, but I really REALLY want to nail down this damn beeping sound haha! I totally love the beeping effect but I understand that the frequency can be bothersome to many people. It really depends on what kind of system you're listening to it on. When I make subtle changes to the beeping to try and remove some high frequency, I feel it really takes away from the effect; It just doesn't sound the same. I'm so TORN bro! I think I'm gonna take your advice here and let it rest for a minute and gather my thoughts, then take another stab at it haha

Nice man, everything works really well together, wobble isn't really my kind of thing but thats just personal taste. I felt that the drums sometimes got a bit lost, maybe try resampling them? But yeah man, cool tune.

@Sweetleaf: Thanks for the incite man, it the wobble just a little harsh for your tastes as compared to a traditional, smooth sounding wobble?

Great point with resampling the drums, they definitely do get lost. I will look into how I can resample them. Any tips or special method you take when resampling something like a kick-drum?

Think I'm just into weirder sounding wobbles atm lol. I think I normally just resample the same way I do with any sound, I like things like a bit of saturation/overdrive/distortion. I have a random free plugin thats great for low end thump, its called drove i think. Maybe widen and space out on the top end. And layer them up. Snares are more fun to resample though.

Thanks sweetleaf, did you just grab Drove on the net as freeware? I'm interested in checking it out.

Thanks for the advice bro

I liked that high pitched sound all ready. Because when I was mixing I was able to get a good register spread with that!

Try this to sort out blending in those beeps. (assuming you use FL)
Put the synth youre using for the beeps onto a mixer channel. Click it on the step sequencer and then click ctrl+L or right click an empty channel on the mixer and go "link selected channel to this track" hooray your sound is now on the mixer (haha this is just in case you arent already using the mixer)
Turn on fruity reverb 2 and fruity delay 2 on the channel on the mixer. Dont touch anything on the delay except the cutoff dial next to the volume dial. Set it to half way.
On the reverb, click the spinning circle ting on the left and drag up and right till its as big and round as possible. Dont touch the middle slider on the reverb but move the dry to 110 or 115 percent and move the wet to between 80 and 90 percent.
THEN add fruity limiter to the mixer channel with the beeps (im trying to save you from removing them cos i reckon they sound sick) and dont touch anything except the top left purple gain knob on the limiter. Drag it up so the purple line representing gain levels sits halfway between the middle line and the top of the limiter.

Then just play with the mixer levels of the fx on the beeping and the volumes of the other synths (assuming you have all them on the mixer too) and see if you can get the sound to sharpen or soften into the tune. Good luck :)
Wuld love to know if that works :)

And parallel processing lol. I'm assuming you mean stuff like NY comp?

are parallel processing, mixed bus processing and ny compression not essentially the same ting? :)

@Skerrick - Thanks for the awesome tips man. I definitely use the mixer for every sound and synth I use. EQing out the frequencies I don't need is something I'm really working on getting better at. I did try reverb on the beeping synth, but couldn't really get it to sound good without losing the sound I like in the beeps. It's hard to explain, but I've had really disappointing results with everything I've tried. On the flip side, I came up with some really neat sounding beeps, but it just doesn't carry the same vibe as the high pitched ones do. So that's where I'm having trouble, but I'm going to try some of your advice when I get home.

@Sweetleaf - Do you just google for free plugins, or is there some sort of website/emporium where I can check out and download a lot?

Thanks guys!

Interesting you say that, glad it worked well for you. I had such a hard time trying to dissect that darn sound because it sounds good on some systems but high pitched on others. CANNOT find a happy medium lol :u:

Just google what I'm looking for, you will probably come across sites that have loads of them though. All tiny files all free so I just have em all :) Nd the beeping sounds fine to me man, if it was me I'd probably cut the harshest freqs and resample. But just have it how you want it to sound man

Man i personally reckon the tune sounds fine, i had some mates round for a blaze and i was showing them stuff from peoples soundclouds that ive heard from dsf and i showed them your tune kill and when the beeps dropped one dude in particular was like "that sounds fucking sick" cos its where the beat kinda slows down too. I reckon just say fuck the haters, leave what sounds good to you and dont change a thing if nothing else is working. Taking them out would suck man, they give so much vibe i reckon. You dont have to follow every piece of feedback you get, sometimes i try what people suggest and im just like wtf no that doesnt work at all. But then youve learned something you can use later on that might fit into somethign else.

@ Skerrick -- Thanks bro, that really warms the old heart that you played it to some dudes and they liked it! Haha, I showed my chick your songs this weekend and she thought they were sick. Gotta get them tunes up for D/L :P She likes the evil dark dubstep so that was right up her alley. Thanks for that advice though, sometimes I try to follow everyone's advice too closely instead of taking it with a grain of salt. So appreciate you reinforcing that for me.

@ Sweetleaf -- Alright, gonna have to hit up the old net and see what I can nab out there :)

Been slaving away on a new one all, should be ready to show tomorrow. Thank you everyone! Love DSF!
